WHAT IS DIVORCE BUSTING®?

"I love you, but I'm not in love with you anymore." "We got married for all the wrong reasons." "I'm not attracted to you anymore." "Why can't you admit that we just made a mistake?" "My affair isn't the reason our marriage isn't working." "I never really loved you in the first place." "It's time to tell the kids it's over."

Does any of this sound familiar? If so, my heart goes out to you. There is little that is more painful than feeling the person you love slipping away. You feel disoriented. Nothing else seems to matter. Your thoughts keep circling back to the same questions: How did this happen? What went wrong? And is there anything I can do to turn things around?

But there’s another side to this story.

If you’re the one considering leaving, you may be hurting too. You may feel you’ve tried everything, waited long enough, or that your feelings are simply gone. I take that seriously.

And I also believe that marriage is worth fighting for.

Over the years, I’ve worked with countless couples who were absolutely certain their marriages were beyond repair—only to discover that problems they believed were hopeless could change.  Nearly five decades of working with couples has taught me that sometimes feelings change. Sometimes people change. Since I don’t know you yet, I don’t know if this is possible for your marriage.

But I do believe that before ending a marriage, it’s important to leave no stone unturned. Divorce is one of the most consequential decisions you will ever make, particularly when children are involved. Before making that decision, you want to know that you have done everything possible to understand what went wrong, what can change, and whether your marriage could become something very different from what it is today.

Even if divorce is ultimately the outcome, engaging in a meaningful, heartfelt process to understand how you got to this point—and what would need to be different going forward—can make genuine closure more possible.

That’s Divorce Busting®. And it’s what I’ve devoted my career to doing.
