I have a practical question about Detaching and GAL: If I have to give WW half my net earnings every month, how can I go forward in my life? Say we finalize D and I move on with my life and better myself. I still have the ball chain of alimony tied to me for many years, albeit at a smaller rate than what I currently have to give her.

If I meet and fall in love with another woman, how can I detach myself from WW if I continually have to support her? My resources will have to support two women at the same time? I am not referring to child support which I have no problem paying.

The way I see it we will have to find a W who works and loves us for who we are with all our faults and does not care who makes the money. I don't know any other way to get back to a lifestyle that we were used to. It will be the most difficult thing to do. Especially when you have kids involved. Less vacations and weekend trips.
The most enjoyable times will have to be spent with family and friends.

Very true. I just need to keep that in mind.
WW was asking me to pay some bills. It really bothers me her sense of entitlement to the whole thing. She can fire me as a husband yet feels no qualms demanding money from me. The alimony part really drives me nuts!
