Time for a new thread I suppose...

I actually posted this update last night on my 'unexamined life' thread. But I think that it was a significant contact with my W, so I want to start this thread by reposting it.

UPDATE....

Wife called me at 8:30 tonight (Tuesday). She said that she had just dropped her sister off at home after dealing with some of the stuff going on with her grandma's passing. She had asked me earlier if I could get her mail. I had told her that I would. She asked me if she could stop by to pick it up. I said yes. Then she asked if I had some of a particular kind of whiskey that she knows that I know that she likes. I said 'no', but that I was not quite home yet, and could drop by the liquor store on my way home. She said not to worry about it, but she'd like to have a drink with me. I ended up stopping at the liquor store anyway and picking up the whiskey.

W arrived at my home about 10 minutes after me. We drank and talked for almost 3 hours. For the first 1 1/2 hours, we talked about her grandma's passing and her life... for the second half of the time, we talked about W's life... the classes that she has been teaching since she left... her music... etc. NO R talk at all. We laughed quite a bit. SS watched a movie while W and I had drinks... she had less than I did bc she was driving! LOL... but good time.

She just left about 15 minutes ago... and I am drunk. Nice....

Love hearing a story like this. This is the type of thing I envision of getting my W and I back on track, just some time together. Good luck!

How did you know grr!?!?! LOL!

Country - I am not familiar with your situation, but know that it has taken A LOT of time and patience for me to get as far as I have... and I'm no where close to the finish line. But DB has really worked up to this point. YOu have to follow it though... no matter how counter intuitive it seems at the time. Take care man. I really hope that you have success here and with the reconciliation of your M.

I can't be the only one disturbed by the thought that he let is W drive home impaired. I hope that's not the case.

"She had less" - I don't know what that means. She could have less and still be impaired. Also he was drunk himself and probably couldn't judge.

I hope she got home same.

Now, I'm sure Ill hear it for bringing this up. But if your life has been affected by a DUI. You always think about the consequences

Harrier - I appreciate that. I actually do criminal defense work and have done about a zillion DUI cases! LOL... they are no fun for anyone, definitely.

No, my W only had 1 1/2 drinks before she left. She was perfectly fine and sober. Trust me, I'm a stickler with that.

I only had 4 drinks, but then couldn't sleep. Most of my 'hang over' is actually lack of sleep... but then again, each year, I seem to get hung over easier and easier... old age I guess.

And yes, I texted her to make sure that she got home safely.
