Hey Thornton, it hasn't been too awful long but definitely the longest we haven't had any contact since I moved out just over 6 months ago. It was right after New Years when I heard from her last and a few days later was her birthday. I just texted Happy 35th and that's it. Thanks for replying!

Detaching is still going good and I'm not thinking of her quite as much.

That is great to hear. I have to communicate with the H about the kids, but other than that have only been detaching for 3-4 weeks. My hope is that detaching will lead me to less hope for reconciliation and keeping the focus on me and my kiddos. Glad it is going well for you and keep us posted!

yeah so far so good! I'm sure with children it is harder to detach having to be in contact. You will start getting stronger and your mindset will change about the whole sitch. At first all I wanted is to reconcile and now I'm still definitely open to it but if we don't it's her loss. You will start feeling proud for all the work you put in to get where your at.

Good to hear you're doing well. How has life been without porn or alcohol for you?

Looks like you're in a great place as far as getting back together or not with your XW. Any other thoughts on how you've gotten there? I'd love to hear them.

Hey PigPen,

Thanks and getting away from both of them was the best thing I've done. I have had urges to do both but haven't. With a clear mind I can see how much both did totally damage our relationship

I do feel like I'm in a pretty good place and look forward to being in an even better place. I have been trying to connect with people a lot more then I used to. I have met some new people but a lot of them I already knew just never took the time to really connect. I never was a big reader but through all of this I started reading everything I could. From self help to save the marriage and tons of stuff on here. It just started to make more sense. I still think it [censored] but whatever will be will be.

One of the things I have been reading is stuff from The Authentic Man Program and I think it's pretty cool. They give you tips on how to be the best you and drop all the habits you have picked up through your life. Basically become a stripped down version of you that is more aware and present in your interactions with everyone.

Today would have been our 8 year anniversary. It's a little sad to think about but now it's just another day. Detaching and GALing is still going good and I have been staying pretty positive lately.
