Ummm...today I do have an extra piece of flair! I have my trusty name/ID badge but also a cool "Field Days" t-shirt since I am working all three days of Field Days activities at my school (K, 1 and 2 each have their own day).

Yesterday I worked tug of war. Today, relay races. Tomorrow, tug of war again. Got to watch my son in relay races today. My mom came at lunch to watch and stayed until they got to go home at 1:30. He didn't want to have to stay at school, so grandma took him home but I am here until 3:30.

So happy bc I put on a pair of last year's jean shorts (bermuda-ish length) for school today, since I would be outside all day. They are hanging off me! Literally. And the capri pants I wore yesterday were loose, too. Double yay! I hated how I looked last summer so I am glad those clothes are getting big. Need to keep working out and eating right so I don't creep back up there...

Not sure what is on tap for tonight. Originally Dan's night, but he was supposed to fly to Canada last night. He called earlier in the evening to tell me he had Nathan's bat for practice tonight, that he was having his friend/coworker Barry bring it over. We've known him for 8 years so I wonder if our sitch is weird to him!? Anyway, he called later to say goodnight to the kids, amidst the tornado warnings...for obv reasons his flight was delayed. Then he called me around 11 and his flight had been canceled. He said he would call again today to figure out tonight's schedule, he was too tired to think about it then as had been waiting in airport for 5 hours.

Man, I am tired! Almost nodding off here, and all I did was stand outside for 4 hours calling relay races. That's pitiful!

Uh field day wore me out! I only had one day! I can't imagine doing 2 or 3! I was feeling every year of my 33 years after playing with my class outside all day. Sunburned on my shoulders to top it all off! Friday is our last day! : )

Long week of being outside! I am either a total wuss (doubt it!) or that flu/bronchitis took its toll on me...

Three days of 'field day' at my school means standing outside each day manning a station. Tuesday and today were tug-of-war, yesterday was races. I need a nap! My forearms have a nice tan, though. wink I rarely use sunblock and I tan pretty easily, my mom and sisters are fair and freckled w/blue eyes so they basically hate me! Somehow I got the green eyes and darker complexion of my grandfather...

Anyway lots of cat-herding. Amazing you can say, "Do not pick up the rope until I tell you to" a dozen times and the first thing they do when they stand up is run and grab the rope. grin

Not much else new, Dan interactions are random and limited. He was supposed to be in Canada this week so kids were 'mine' but flight was canceled due to storms Tuesday night. So I took the kids after school Weds (normally his night) and he was going to pick up Nate for baseball. It was 5:50 (practice at 6) so I texted I would take him. He replied back to just have him ready to go. Grr!! He showed up at 5:58 and was short with me but I gave him the look and he stopped being snippy. He no longer gets to take his frustration over being late to stuff out on me! wink

Anyway he texted me at ten last night asking if I had seen "Bobbi's cell phone" then sent back "I mean Sydney's"...guess she took her toy phone to his house and lost it? I checked the house and sent back that I didn't have it.

Then this morning he calls and says he left Sydney's glasses at his house, can he drop them by mine so I get them to her at school. I said fine, he left them in my car (it was unlocked) and I didn't even see him.

Now this afternoon I get back from field day to a text and an email wanting Nathan's shoe size? I guess he wants baseball cleats and Dan is getting some. Works for me, he can spend the $$!

Starving and feel like being lazy. However I know I should take the kids outside to play after school as it is a lovely, gorgeous day out there! Netflix is sending us "The Blind Side" and "Iron Man" today, Nathan wants to see Iron Man so he can then watch the sequel. I will probably watch The Blind Side after they are in bed as I am not sure it will hold their interest.

Only one more day of school. Hooray! grin

Went home after school to cat nap for 30 minutes before getting the kids. Dan called but I ignored as was trying to relax! smile Although now I just feel even more tired if that's possible? I am not good at short rests (20-30 min)...better if I just hang on until bedtime!

I survived the day relatively unscathed although upon getting home I see my nose has a bit of a rudolph red to it...had on sunglasses which shaded my face some but not my nose! Oh well...

I love NetFlix, but I canceled it. I just am not home enough to watch a lot of movies.

The flu didn't help, but the humidity really zaps you. I did Field Day last week. Lots of fun -- but just one day. I can't imagine three days.

I would not like the constantly adjusting schedule with Dan. Although I'll probably deal with it a lot this summer.

Boy for someone who is divorced, he texts you an awful lot! Sorry you are so tired but I hear you. I am too since the last few nights I haven't slept well. Don't you have the Cancer walk thing this weekend? You need some rest.

Hey, BobbiJo, I'm doing a story on an Alpaca farm getting a $300,000 grant to develop a clothing line from Alpaca fiber. Should I put you down for an Alpaca t-shirt?

Yep, that sounds great! Now, will it have a picture of an alpaca on it, too? wink

A)Yes, he calls and texts a lot. Pretty much a daily even when he does not have the kids. At first he just called at night to say goodnight to the kids. Now it's texts at random hours of the day and night about random things that aren't really urgent enough to warrant the contact. And some calls sprinkled in, too. In fact I called him back an hour after he called me earlier...he wanted to say he had Nathan's shoes and would bring them by tonight to try on. Then he told me a funny story about something that happened in practice last night. And, he was at work at the time. I dont know the last time he called me from work and it certainly wasn't to tell me a funny story?

B)Yup, tired, but a good tired, not like when I was sick. Kind of that feeling when you've been out swimming or boating all day. Just heat- and sun- tired. Cancer walk this weekend, shooting for 18 miles but we'll see since my lungs are recovering.

C)Made dinner for the kids tonight. Sloppy joes, sweet corn, mac and cheese. Then took them for a 40 minute bike ride. We rode over to school and rode around on the parking lot. Nice surface with lots of room to ride around and not worry about traffic! Nathan still has training wheels, I need to take them off this summer before he turns 8!

D)Just settling in to watch Iron Man. I am sure Nathan will love it...and tomorrow is the last day of school. YAY!

Hey, you had flu/bronchitis too! Isn't it great, I've been off work all week and Dr. Empathy says "Bronchitis is what you get when you wait two weeks to come and see me". I hope you're over it, I know I'm still hoping to get there. I can't ever remember feeling this bad for so long even when I had pneumonia a few years ago. Btw, I take it you're a teacher or you wouldn't be this excited about school being over! My daughter 16 wants to "hang out" all summer but knows it ain't gonna happen.
