Okay, so I just wanted some input on Christmas gifts for the WAS/MLCer. What should I do about this? My H lives at home still. I know there is thread over in newcomers about this and the resounding consensus is not to get them anything.

I am having the kids make him something and got a couple small things and stocking stuffers.

Any suggestions/advice?

Hi!

Very old timer here.

A Gift=Pressure. Pressure is never good. It may cause an ugly backlash. So, very very very small things may be okay, but do not expect anything in return.

If you can't give him something and receive nothing as from an impoverished friend, don't give anything but a friendly smile, a joyful "Merry Christmas" and a warm hug if he'll take it.

Make this holiday for you, babe.

Take care

You're buying presents from the kids for him, right? Any parent knows the kids don't usually buy their presents until they are older. Nor would they know that Daddy likes the widescreen format over the regular format on DVDs and he likes them with the special features.

If you are going to buy him a present, something practical, not romantic and deffinately not expensive.

Oh no! I had the perfect gift picked out! It's $1.99 from iTunes. His favorite singer from the 60s singing his most-hated Christmas carol. I think it'll make him laugh. Can I? Pleeease?

Dang! So much for concensus.

I have one item that both of the kids will give to X from THEM. I feel really good about this decision as I'm doing it for the kids (so they have a gift to give her) and have no second thoughts about me NOT giving something to her. I may send her a greeting card through the mail (if I wait a little longer that possibility will be academic).

Think about you children (if you have any) in this sitch. Whatever your mlcer has become they are still their other parent. Be sure your kids don't feel bad/awkward.
