Slowly, I heard a great word a few months ago -- "Awful-izing". That's when we assume the worst possible outcome.

A big breakthrough for me was learning to ask myself, "Are you awfulizing? Stop it." So, I learned to stop. It was not an immediate stopping! But, recognizing awfulizing was the first step.

Acknowledging that you don't have all the facts, that you have no idea what the outcome will be, that you aren't in the other person's head sounds like a control freak's worst nightmare! But, actually, it's helped me have more free time and has helped me feel calmer and more centered.

Hope all is well,
Michele

Michele - I love the term you have coined - reminds me of Jennifer's puky smiley

I should have this as my screensaver - might just save me untold cycles of angst

But yes, it is getting better. Slowly

Finally surfacing after a lousy bout of migraine. Ugh. It seems to happen about once a year, and knocks me out for a couple of days. NG is on a business trip and does not get back till tomorrow, so the pity party here has been a riot

Time to visit here and get back on track with the ole PMA.

Oh, Slowly, how could you expect to have good PMA with a migraine? I was diagnosed with them in 1988, and had them horribly for about 3 years. They are debilitating and awful. I know I was physically out of it for at least 3 days...

So get some rest, hydrate and hope you're feeling better soon.

p.s. Do you know the triggers? Mine were extreme stress.

Guys - thanks so much for the visits - I got myself some flowers yesterday to cheer myself up, too

Pam - yes, once te pain went away, I started feeling more like my normal sunny self.

Bets - I remember early in my life here you cautioned me about PMA when we are unwell, I think I had the flu then - even now, I give myself permission to feel lousy when I remember your advise - sometimes the compulsion to be at our dbing best clouds simple common sense My migraines are triggered by low blood pressure, which in turn can be caused by fatigue. Thankfully its no more than about once a year, when I forget to watch for clues.

TJ - I'm going to swing by your place in a minute. Its normally hell for 2 days, then just a tenderness as I start surfacing.

Kelly - you, whispering You know, when I see a note that is typed in all caps, it feels like the writer is shouting, so I completely get the whisper ...

midwest - its good to be ready for the weekend. NG got back from his business trip yesterday, I'm guessing he is exhausted, not too much coming my way in the shape of TLC. I'm just giving him space, for now.

OK, nothing much to update here, just happy to be pain-killer free

Slowly
