It has been an interesting first week of our vacation. Lots of time to reflect on things and sift through the noise to get to the heart of the matter. I came across this quote this morning, which made me realise that part of my frustration lies in expecting that I KNOW this stuff, when in actual fact, there still is much about life, and how to handle myself, that I need to learn
Quote:

It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.
Epictetus

So this then is my continuing journey, where I'm really going to focus on me, becuase I'm worth it

Hi Slowly

When my D was little, she used to dance all the time, especially in front to the TV while watching song and dance videos.

So when she reached about six, I asked her if she would like to join a ballet or other dance class? She replied, no thank you, she alread KNEW how to dance!

And of course, in a way, she did.

Hi LnL - IN a way, she was right. But, don't we all know a little of something? I guess my struggle still centers around the notion that I do know when I'm happy, sad, angry, confused, frustrated, etc. My problem is I'm not always sure why. And it would really help me manage myself if I could better understand why I'm getting stuck in some lousy places.

OK, off to get some lunch now. Tonite is our treat at the theatre - to see the musical Mamma Mia. Should be fun.

Hi Slowly

Hey, I'm in agreemnet with you, was just sharing an amusing story!

Your quote is sort of the cousin of -

"You can never win an argument with a fool"

Hi LnL - Kids can sometimes be profound too. And yes, I agree with your line on not winning arguments with fools. Take now for example, it is lunch time, and NG has decided that some work on the kitchen cabinets just cannot wait. There will be little point in me reminding him that it is lunch time, he just wants to do this now. So I'm snacking on a packet of crisps, and enjoying myself back on the boards.

I can see his puzzled looks as to why there is no argument. This is a big 180 for me, by the way. I'm just letting him be...

Hi slowly,

Sounds like you are doing an excellent job dropping the rope AND relaxing!

Just checked to see if you happened to be on yahoo, haven't seen you in a long time. Actually I haven't been on in a long time.

Hi Pam - I've had to de-install Yahoo, it kept popping up at boot, and NG was around too much for comfort

Plus I was having a hard time juggling all the channels.... getting old...

Checking in! Sounds like things are pretty steady around here.
Boy can I relate to their timing to do jobs! You have a wonderful attitude about it!
