That's a great quote, Eckhart Tolle is the best. I was thinking however, that he is saying that there is some mysterious force 'life' that is determining our fate, and that we don't have the power to influence our destiny through our own choices. Is this your interpretation of the quote SH?

qt, I understand this quote to teach us that we must control that which we can control and let that which we can not take its course for our benefit.
I do not believe in mysterious forces that control me or take away my free will.
It is a balance.
Control you, your thoughts, your actions, and how you treat others.
Do not waste focus or energy trying to control other people, or forces outside of ourself.
This is basically the secret to life.
Look to those influential figures in our history and this can become more clear.
Abe Lincoln controlled himself and influenced change. He did not focus on what others thought of him.
Mother Theresa, the Dali Lama, Martin Luther King, Plato, Marcus Aurelius, etc.

My point is, focus on you and control of you. That will give you influence over life.
Discontinue lamenting what happens around you and the mistakes you have made, those have simply led you to where you are.

Hi, SH. I was a bit of an ingrate for a bit, but I'm back!

Today I am grateful for dental insurance (while it lasts), and the care of a good endodontist. My tooth is back on the road to recovery, and I am happy about that.

I am grateful that I have a warm bed and a roof over my head. Every single day.

I am grateful for the people out there who are willing to make room for a new person in their lives. So many people have been so sweet and kind and concerned for me. It's incredible.

Grateful for having been given another chance at living a fulfilled happy life, albeit as a divorced woman. Sort of like a phoenix rising up out of the ashes of my marriage!

I know I know....

I share this gratitude most frequently, but tonight I just have to...

I am the luckiest man and father around..
So thankful for the kind and joyous and loving spirits that are my 2 young daughters.

Seeing d18 and her efforts to do what she is doing for the community and to be recognized in the local news is kind of a big deal for me.
She works so hard and has gone through so much this past year that it is really paying off.
Should have been one of the best years of her life, and in spite of the circumstances, she is turning the lemons into lemonade....
D6 is doing no less...also a big year for her and she is getting it done...she loves school and is doing well..
They both give so much love to both of their parents.

I am so blessed and so grateful for both of them...

I am grateful that I was able to pray and meditate upon a choice that I was faced with and I came to an answer that I know was the right one.
First cordial conversation face to face with STBX in 6 months.

I am grateful for the challenges that have lead me to look within and start a journey of change.

I am thankful for the good day that I have had.

Grateful for a new day...
A new opportunity to progress...
Another chance to learn...
Too love...
Too serve...
Too feel loved...
Too smile...
Too feel pain...
Too experience mistakes and successes...

Too live, it the greatest blessing...and all that living entails...
Grateful for the good and the bad...
For without the one, I can not truely know the other...
