Ok, new thread. My new challenge to myself is see where I want to be in 2 years and find the steps to make it happen. Biggest reason for this is that while I like my job it won't pay me enough to support the 5 of us once alimony stops and my 2nd son comes off of child support.

Good thing I always trained myself to look ahead.

FIRST!!!!!! I think it's hot enough today that I would like a mint julep please. smile

So, are you looking to stay in the same business, go into business for yourself, get published, or change careers?

I want to get published. As I know that can take a while especially since I am no where near finished, I don't just want to jump into another frying pan. Customer service jobs since I was 15 so nearly 33 years experience. Something else...PLEASE!!

Ran around during lunch yesterday picking up last minute items for D13. She will be going to DC next Tuesday. So fun to see her so excited and at the same time wishing it was me.

S19 got a new job at one of the local hospitals. Better pay and hours though he might still work a shift or two at the movie theater.

Can't believe we are nearly half way through June.

Great! What is he doing at the hospital? Does he plan on going into the medical field?

Has your D13 ever been to DC? I may have asked that before but I can't remember! smile

S19 will be doing meal service 3-7:30 I am guessing 5 days a week. He gets night per diem for hours after 6 as well as time on weekends and holidays. He seems really excited plus the hospitals are less than a mile from our house. He is going to be making at least $2.00 more an hour.

As for D13, nope she has never been. She hasn't been on a plane except when I was pregnant with her and took her to Denmark that way. smile We have driven to Orlando 3 times, surrounding states and to SD to Mt Rushmore.

I am trying to think of some mini-trip we can take as I have 3 weeks vacation. I am saving most of the time for around the holidays when my daughter, an exchange student from Slovakia, will be here.

Now just need to figure out a way for me to make more money...

That is wonderful for your son! Congrats to him!

She will absolutely love DC. I've only been on my own, not with an organized group, but have done it twice so far and am itching to go back. Absolutely LOVE it!

A mini-trip? Hmmmmm..........How about taking them to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas? Have you done that? You can acutally dig for diamonds. People pull them up all the time there. Lots of fun! It's a little over an 8 hour drive, but what a unique adventure!

Funny, I was just thinking about Arkansas!

Of course I will need to see how his schedule works before I plan anything. Even though he is older, he hates to not be able to go with us anywhere. I don't blame him. lol
I suppose the good thing is that I wouldn't necessarily have to plan it over the weekend for the kids, since it is summer. Something to consider that is for sure.

Thanks Mish!
