BobbiJoe - There is no problem kissing as friends. I know that I have been doing that.

Since ejecting my wife from my house almost 3 years ago, I had gotten rid of much of her clutter and organized my house to my liking. During this time, I was constantly searching for my Cub Scout Pinewood Derby cars (I found my winning trophy) so that I could show my son who is also in the Cub Scouts. This last summer, I completed the last of my organization in the garage and attic with no Pinewood Derby cars to be found. I had resigned myself that they were gone forever.

Today when my XW stopped by my office to get our daughter's violin from me, she surprised me with my 40+ year old Pinewood Derby cars. Apparently, they were in a box of items I had given her some time ago that I thought was all of hers.

Closure!

I am now a complete man.

Happy Happy! Joy Joy!

Found cars and (almost) sold houses... a good day for many today!

Glad you got your cars back - it will be pretty cool for your son to see them!

KerryK, who was Willie Pep's nemesis?

Second question, you mentioned you tossed the Ex out three years ago. How is your relationship with her today?

Was there a turning point that you remember?

Sandy Sadler who beat him more times. From what I have heard, they were not very fond of one another.

XW and I get along great as divorced parents. She just called and asked me if I had a date on Saturday. I told her no (new lady date is on Friday) and she asked if I could take the kids as she needed to help a young lady we know get moved in for college at OSU.

Things got better once the D was over and the financial things were dealt with.

But, she also must have seen a personal counselof during the D because she ended up saying thank you a lot. And she asked for another chance right before the D was final so that may have had something to do with her attitude going forward.

As for my first date on Friday...new lady suggested a Thai restaurant. I happen to be quite familiar with Thai food. She also has some interesting characteristics that interest me...electronics geek, golf, same philosophy, gardening and...if it works out, she speaks Chinese which would be very advantageous for my son who is learning it.

There's a few nuggets there for me. I'm hoping I'll feel more peace when it's over and the finances are taken care of -- plus my grandmother's wedding ring.

Also, did the fact she asked for a second chance before it was final play any role in your attitude now?

My STBXW apologized at our mediation sessions, saying "I know this isn't what you want. I'm sorry."

But that hasn't done much for me.

I know I need to get better, but I can't imagine me ever asking if she has a date on a particular night. I can't imagine ever getting totally over it.

I suppose it does make me think a bit that I could have saved my marriage in the end. It was nice to hear her acknowlege that it was a nightmare (clubbing and tramping) that had entered her life and I was actually a good husband who was not at fault for her straying. But I realize that life is better not being married to her anymore.

That's a bit of closure I'd like to have.

On boxing, I read a piece about how Saddler was bitter at the fact that Pep was always listed as one of the greatest featherweights ever, usually over Saddler, even though Saddler won two of the three fights.
