Well if scary houses don't work, I could always meet you to window shop! smile I have no clue when it comes to my house. So I need to be looking for ideas.

I might still cave and take D11 this weekend, just depends on what the weather is doing. No point going if it is going to be a soggy mess. But she has been wanting to go since October!

Went to D9's string concert tonight. They were all really good. Ex was there. The kids kept talking about it before hand so I wasn't surprised. Since it was just us we sat together and even when I took the girls to Dairy Queen, I invited him along. He accepted and we had a good time. How strange after 4 kids, 19 years of marriage and almost 2 years of being divorced, we could get along.

Oh well less stress is always good. So it is what it is. Civility.

Even though I hate that term, it is what it is, I do like the rest of your post! smile

It is going to be good for your kids if you can do things together and get along...

As long as his girlfriend isn't there, I think I am good. I don't know that I can say the same when we throw my parents in the mix! They haven't seen him since he filed and I don't think that will be a pretty picture. Best to keep them apart especially since we have two graduations this month!

Sometimes it is hard to come up with a better description of the situation. Dan must have used that phrase a lot with you. sorry.

Storms here, I think all day but hopefully no tornadoes.

That was great for the kids that you two were able to sit together and go to DQ together afterward. Civility is imperative! smile

No storms here today, thank goodness. Just lots of sunshine and 81 degrees. Supposed to storm on Monday....right in the middle of the funeral. ICK!

Glad that you were able to do this with you ex. It is very healthy for everyone when two people can set their differences aside and act civil to one another. So far (thankfully) this is what I have experienced with my own STBXW and based on some of the horror stories I have read on this board about batch*tt crazy ex'es, I feel very fortunate for me and my two girls.

I can't promise that this will always be the case. The kids are the greatest thing we have done. No reason for them to feel bad when we are together.

I almost grabbed his hand last night like I used to but stopped myself and grabed D11's. Good thing I made her come along. smile

Yeah, that can be the danger. Old habits and all. But you made it and good for the girls. We are celebrating Sydney's birthday with lunch and cake on Sunday, just the 4 of us. I want them to see that we still love them no matter what. As the book I am reading says, "It is important for the kids that you love them more than you despise your spouse"

Not that you despise him, per se, but you get the idea. I am sure they enjoyed the experience.

Weekend plan?
