Ok now I feel guilty....the first four years of Nathan's life I never had a babysitter and we lived in different states so I had no family to step in...part of how/why Dan and I drifted apart, no 'us' time...
But now between my parents, his parents, and joint custody, I have loads of free evenings...that is something that would be tough to give up in order to reconcile...that and closet space!
He still struggles to find clothes that arent wrinkled... I just watch him and enjoy it. I mean, ok, the rest he may have gotten, but closet space? Not yet Mister, closet space is sacred in this house and you must earn it!! K
Maybe another reason why ex left...lack of closet space!! Actually since my room is a converted attic the doors tend to stick on the closets. Very little space for summer things anyhow!
the kids used to spend the night with his parents once and a while. For about a year our parents would coordinate who got which set and then they would spend the night to give me one free evening. Problem was ex was always working, but at least it was time to myself. Now my in-laws haven't had them spend the night once since the falling out over the D.

Yeah, it is the 16th!! I guess the conference is next week, not this week. He had the dates wrong last month. But at least we are back to texting and flirting.

We just had a couple of quick e-mails last night so haven't brought that up yet. He is so glad to be done. I might suggest something and if he can't or I become a big chicken and don't say anything, I am going to Iowa. I will have to check the weather for that though too. If not this weekend then in two weeks, I /we will do the Iowa trip.

I know this makes me look bad but it is so cute. I was out walking with my 3 youngest the other night. D9 was trying to understand the difference between a promise and a goal. I started to say that I could set as a goal for myself not to cuss during basketball games. She says, "But Mommy you do. Whenever the other team scores you usually shout out $%#^&. (okay this is an exaggeration but that is besides the point). I said well ok but I am going to try not to. You don't need to tell everyone. She comes back with,"We already all know you do, because we sometimes watch the game with you." I just told her that we don't need to tell Grandma and Grandpa and people outside the family. I will keep working on it. She said okay and the conversation moved on to something else.
Reminder to self not to bring up basketball around my kids and in front of my parents when they are with us!!
