a few of your words were triggers--something right there just under the surface. "struggle." "victim." "connection." sometimes they come along at just the right time.

G-

Love the new thread title and topic. I think a lot of us probably fall under "others-focused". I know the way my parents raised me (esp my mom), if you thought of yourself it was considered 'bad' or 'selfish'. So lots of mental re-training there...

I just bought a new Yoga DVD a week or two ago but haven't tried it yet. I have always been curious about Yoga and with your recommendation I will have to check it out! smile

G-man, love this new thread, and your post.

Great working for you and on you, I was imagining you walking around talking to all those people, and asking that lady to dinner.

Way to go! Stepping out and about, and meeting new people, it can seem intimidating at times, but think you learn most people are nice, and actually want to have these exchanges.

You may have never had these experiences without pushing your boundaries a bit, and it can be exhilarating!

Thanks, BobbiJo.

For me, it's like:
Prayer/Meditation+
Exercise/Stretching+
Self love/self honoring=
Yoga

If you can do a class, I'd recommend it over dvd. Just to start anyway. I tried dvd once and it didn't do it for me. But a hands-on teacher, being among a group, the ambience, etc.?

iwitw,
Looks like you were posting to me as I was posting to you.
Thanks for the affirming words.

G- love the thoughts you opened with. And it sounds like you had a wonderful experience while house sitting. If I didn't have a small child I'd love to go away like that for a few weeks!

But I'm curious... You said:
Quote:

While I try to stay positive, I have allowed abandoned, divorced, financially-strapped and stuck with this house to define me for far too long. That's normal, I guess - if not necessary - for a while, maybe, but no more.

Do you have any new descriptions or words that define the new you or that you'd like to define you going forward, even if they're just aspirations now?

Gardener,
Yoga is really a mind-twister since when you go it feels as if all you have done is stretch and there is no impact. Then 3 days later your core hurts so bad (good). Good stuff. And glad to hear you are doing well smile

I love all this! You do sound like a refreshed, recharged and re-centered Gman!

It *is* your turn and I am thrilled to see you are making the most of it!

You are certainly radiating something new... I like it!
