Kat-I got your luminary $ last night. Thanks so much for supporting the cause, sorry you lost loved ones to cancer. I know it is rough... The benefit I went to Saturday was for a local man with esophogeal cancer, they were selling Tshirts that said Cancer Sucks...

Mindfull, you win the prize! He wanted to talk about the plan. He was concerned about the first time the kids coming over, them staying for four days, and the first two being school nights...how that transition would affect them.

I had said the same thing on the boards here after my parenting class, however I was not going to challenge him on days he was entitled to having the kids. So he asked my opinion, I said I agreed that was a lot of change all at once for a three year old.

So they are going to spend the evening with him Weds unpacking and putting their clothes away in the closet/dresser and getting acclimated. Then Thursday they will go over for dinner. Then Friday he will have them for the weekend, overnight both nights.

He also looked at the two full suitcases I had on the couch (I packed after kids were in bed) and he thanked me for taking the time to pack, making sure the kids had familiar things, and for saving him having to go shopping for all new things. He also told me he wanted to pay for whatever I bought yesterday (undies, pjs, toiletries)...

Then he said he had honestly not looked in the storage shed to see what all I had put in there over the months (dishes, towels, blankets, kid toys/books, etc), but he thanked me again for taking the time/making the effort to get things sorted. He apoloziged for being crabby Sunday (the day I was bawling!) and said he was just tired from traveling and getting his house ready. But, that he appreciated all I had done.

He has his parenting class tonight. I hope that gives him some more perspective on the whole thing and making things smooth as possible for the kids.

OK gotta go get some work done. grin

Yeah, we are on a real roll..... (again, need an eye-rolling smiley here!!)

[Did I mention my last name was "Roll" before I got married? True... grin ]

So I get back from lunch to find FOUR emails from Dan. Basically he texted me via email bc they are all like 2 sentences long...

Long story short, he just opened some mail I gave him re his 401K and found out he missed the withdrawal window...AGAIN! smirk So he can't get money out to pay me my settlement until June 2-12?!

So anyway lots of "I'm sorry I f'ed up" and "I will find a way, maybe I can take a loan out", etc. Then he said he'd give me all of our tax refund instead of just half, as a down payment...and then another "Sorry"...

Ughhhh. I remember Mishka telling me that the settlements are unenforcable anyway. I hope you get it even though I'm sure it will feel weird.

What are your goals for the summer?

Goals for summer:

*Continue building up my flower garden, I had it installed last August so I hardly got to enjoy it! Everything is planted to attract birds and butterflies

*I am running a 12.5 mile race with my college roomie in June. I may run a half-marathon (13 miles) in late May as well.

[To that end, I just finished my 6 mile run/walk combo in 79 minutes. Yay me!)

*Spending quality time with my kids, fishing, swimming, etc.

*Going on vacation to Chicago with my kids, checking out Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, maybe Adler Planetarium for Nathan

*Unfortunately, also taking a class to work toward completing my ESL endorsement. Yuck, summer school!

*If I have the money, I will be re-siding my house and/or getting a new vehicle to replace my 11 year old, 220,000 mile one! smile

That is just the short list!

That's a good list.

I wish I could match you on the running. I overdid it with basketball and did something to my foot. Not good with having to work a running race this weekend (always lifting and carrying stuff) and softball in April.

Ah, Chicago. I'm hoping to be able to take the girls to Lincoln Park Zoo, Museum of Science & Industry and the Children's Museum. I have friends who live there where we can crash and do a two-day trip.

By the end of summer -- find a house to rent so girls don't have to spend winter being quiet.

Swim, swim, swim, bike, bike, walk, walk with girls.

I'm putting photos now on Facebook from this afternoon.

How is your acceptance factor? I still finds this so bizarre. I read through your sitch and if any situation could have worked itself out it should have been yours.

I'm taking my kids to Chicago this summer too - my old hometown. Hmmm, if it was timed right...
