Life Goes On" Lee Ann Rhymes

Life goes on, life goes on
Life goes on, life goes on

You sucked me in
And played my mind
Just like a toy
You were crank and wind

Baby I would give till you wore it out
You left me lyin' in a pool of doubt
And you're still thinkin' you're the Daddy Mac
You should've known better but you didn't
And I can't go back

Oh life goes on
And it's only gonna make me strong
It's a fact, once you get on board
Say good-bye cause you can't go back
Oh it's a fight, and I really wanna get it right
Where I'm at, is my life before me
And this feelin' that I can go back
Life goes on [repeat 2X]

Wish I knew then
What I know now
You held all the cards
And sold me out

Baby shame on you, if you fool me once
Shame on me if you fool me twice
You've been a pretty hard case to crack
Should've known better but I didn't
And I can't go back

Oh life goes on
And it's only gonna make me strong
It's a fact, once you get on board
Say good-bye cause you can't go back
Oh it's a fight, and I really wanna get it right
Where I'm at, is my life before me
And this feelin' that I can go back
Life goes on

Na, na, na, na, na
Life goes on
Na, Na, Na, Na,
It made me strong
Oh yeah, got this feeling that I can't go back

Life goes on, life goes on, and it's only gonna me strong
Life goes on, life goes on, and on and on

shame on you, if you fool me once
Shame on me if you fool me twice
You've been a pretty hard case to crack
Should've known better but I didn't
And I can't go back

Na, na, na, na, na
Life goes on
Na, Na, Na, Na
It made me strong

Oh yeah
Gotta feelin' that I can't go back
No I can't go back
Oh yeah
I've gotta go now
I'm moving on
No turning back
'Cause you made me strong

This is my go to song

Otherwise it's Nuki Nuki by Gummy Bear as WH ring tone

I just heard "say something I'm giving up on you" on tv. I am struggling with detachment and giving up/dropping the rope. Whatever you want to call it.

Very fitting for my current mood and thoughts.

Also, Hoobastank "the reason". Because W and bd were exactly the reason that I got my head out of my ass and started working on me.

2 for the playlist...

My personal favorite right now and at BD is Meghan Trainor's 'Lips are moving' because every word that came out of his mouth was a lie.

If your lips are moving, if your lips are moving
If your lips are moving, then you're lyin', lyin', lyin', baby
If your lips are moving, if your lips are moving
If your lips are moving, then you're lyin', lyin', lyin', baby
Boy, look at me in my face
Tell me that you're not just about this bass
You really think I could be replaced
Nah, I come from outer space
And I'm a classy girl, I'mma hold it up
You're full of something but it ain't love
And what we got, straight overdue
Go find somebody new
You can buy me diamond earrings and deny-ny-ny, ny-ny-ny, deny-ny
But I smell her on your collar so goodbye-bye-bye, bye-bye-bye
I know you lie
'Cause your lips are moving
Tell me do you think I'm dumb?
I might be young, but I ain't stupid
Talking around in circles with your tongue
I gave you bass, you gave me sweet talk
Saying how I'm your number one
But I know you lie
'Cause your lips are moving
Baby don't you know I'm done
If your lips are moving, if your lips are moving
If your lips are moving, then you're lyin', lyin', lyin', baby
If your lips are moving, if your lips are moving
If your lips are moving, then you're lyin', lyin', lyin', baby
Hey baby don't you bring them tears
'Cause it's too late, too late baby
You only love me when you're here
You're so two-faced, two-faced babe
You can buy me diamond earrings and deny-ny-ny, ny-ny-ny, deny-ny
But I smell her on your collar so goodbye-bye-bye, bye-bye-bye
I know you lie
'Cause your lips are moving
Tell me do you think I'm dumb?
I might be young, but I ain't stupid
Talking around in circles with your tongue
I gave you bass, you gave me sweet talk
Saying how I'm your number one
But I know you lie
'Cause your lips are moving
Baby don't you know I'm done

Runn79r, I was reading your post in Flight's thread, and you mentioned the song "Could Have Been Me" by the Struts. Thanks for posting this great anthem about:

- living the highs and lows of life: "I wanna taste love and pain, Wanna feel pride and shame"
- living life fully, without regrets, from now on: "Never look back and say could have been me"
- fulfilling our destiny: "Don't wanna live as an unsung melody"

There is also a smattering of specific DB advice - "I can't hear you" (spew jackets on!), "I don't fear you" (link: The star is inside of YOU!)

"Could Have Been Me" by the Struts (partial lyrics)

Don't wanna live as an untold story
Rather go out in a blaze of glory
I can't hear you, I don't fear you
I'll live now cause the bad die last
Dodging bullets with your broken past
I can't hear you, I don't fear you now

Wrapped in your regret
What a waste of blood and sweat
Oh oh oh

I wanna taste love and pain
Wanna feel pride and shame
I don't wanna take my time
Don't wanna waste one line
I wanna live better days
Never look back and say
Could have been me
It could have been me
Yeah

Don't wanna live as an unsung melody
I'd rather listen to the silence telling me
I can't hear you, I won't fear you
Don't wanna wake up on monday morning
The thought of work's getting my skin crawling
I can't fear you, I don't hear you now

I think every DBer should play this on their morning alarm clock. Perhaps I will.

Anyone have any other suggestions? I am always interested in new songs.

Can't believe I did not think of this one. About a broken relationship. Dedicated to all those LBSs who blame themselves for their spouses behavior.

The Grapes of Wrath - All the things I wasn't

Hours of hiding, spent apart
The wall was all we'd share
About the closest you could get
About all I would bear
Don't tell me all the things I wasn't
Could have made this big a difference
To all the things you are

Years of listening, taking in
To one day take away
From all the guilt and pity I could
Barely keep at bay
Don't tell me all the things I wasn't
Could have made this big a difference
To all the things you are

The time apart, I've realised
Remains the most we've shared
Unlike you there's no way
I could spend forever there
Don't tell me all the things I wasn't
Could have made this big a difference
To all the things you are

OK, here is one that makes me cry. I was thinking it was a very co-dependent song but then I realized it is about us- the DB'ers here who are trying to "fix" each other. So its not co-dependent but very nice if you think about it describing us here on the forum, offering friendship and support and love and "fixing" each other. I know that a lot of you have "fixed" me and I love you for it. You know who you are. I would name names but I am afraid I would leave someone out, there are the "regulars" who help me all the time, but then sometimes it is the random comment that makes a difference, or lots of times just reading other people's situations.

Fix You by Coldplay

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Omigosh! Another great one! Makes me cry too, every time. It is also the theme song to Ben Davis' "my 120 lb journey". One of my favorite all-time youtube videos. I sometimes show it to my patients to inspire them. Imagine your doctor tearing up - so embarrassing. That song will forever be linked to that video in my mind.

Hi RAI, I just watched the video and now I am crying too! Have you seen the one with the disabled vet who does yoga? Its Arthur's transformation. On youtube. That one makes me cry every time.
