YAAAYAAAAYAAAYAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!

I LOVE good news!!!'

I'm sorry your folks have to throw in the digs.... I can relate on some level. Why doesn't anyone show us how proud they are for what we ARE doing right? And what we ARE doing well..... Many people wouldn't be up and moving if they had to do this.

At least we have the board!!!! My only friends who understand.....

I had a rough night with D13, too....middle school melt-down because her friend was almost here to pick her up, and she accidentally used the wrong shampoo and her hair didn't smell good... Sooooo, meltdown..... 13. Ugh.

Back to YOU!!!!! How exciting of an adventure lies ahead. Just knowing you have an option must feel so great!!!

I'm proud of you!!! And I'm not surprised at all!!! You didn't pull it off....you ROCKED IT!!!

And your news made me smile, which improved MY PMA. So thank you smile.

OMG... I went shopping yesterday and spent forever in the shampoo isle with d13 because she had to find the right smelling shampoo. Apparently the one she had was not good enough. So funny!

Feeling better. Found some more affordable rents on Craigslist.

I can do this.

Thanks to EVERYONE FOR ALL THE SUPPPORT! I really, really appreciate it--more than you know. I don't get a whole lot of that from my family and, getting it here, makes all the difference.

I'm freaking out a lil bit.

HOW IN THE HE!! am I GONNA DO ALL THIS????????? Egads.

I thought I would get this clear, neon arrow saying, "Take the job!! This is it! This is where you should live!!! Take the girls! Life will be GREAT!!"

Not so much.

Pros: I got that feeling (TAKE THE JOB!!!) while I was listening to the editor and publisher. This is a really good fit for me, professionally. I'd be hard-pressed to find another position so suited to my skills and background.

Cons: Can I do this?? Can I act as editor of two fledgling newspapers AND parent AND start a new life somewhere far from home????

Pros: I have already been doing it alone, under much more stressful circumstances...no money, no help, heavy criticism from family...At least, with this position, I'd be getting a steady paycheck and I would have potential to move forward professionally. Could be a lot easier than the stress I've been living under for 2+ years.

Cons: I would much, much, much rather live somewhere sunny all the time. I do better in sunshine. I'm nervous about getting horrible depressed and being stuck in Almost Canada with all this responsibility and I FAIL because I get depressed and/or D20 gets depressed and I can't handle her alone (not that I've had much help).

Pros: I've been taking my Vit D and so has D20. I know the signs and symptoms of my depression. I know when I need to get help. My benefits would kick in around Jan. I'm already covered on Smokey's insurance and I could afford to get help.

D20 may just do better without all the family/outside influences.

Heather,

Pray on it.

Personally, I think I see your answer, but I don't want to say...

I'm just going to say this: Look at your pros and cons. Read them carefully.

Your pros, well they sound great and exciting for you.
Your cons, think carefully about this. I think you have done many things that you weren't sure you could do or not. I also think you will never know if you can or not if...

What do you have to lose? What if you went and it didn't work out? Would you go back? Find something new? Why do you think it may not work out?
How would you feel if you turn it down? Would your regret it? It seems like your biggest fear is, "Can I do this?" Would you always wonder if you could have?

I am sure these are the things you are thinking about and already asking yourself. Read your list again. Put yourself in five years from now and look back at the questions from that point of view.

What a huge decision for you. What a huge opportunity to make a change. It is really tough. Good luck. I will be thinking of you.

I also think making the decision will be one of the toughest parts. Whatever you decide, you will put yourself into action to follow through on that decision. It will be a relief knowing that you have a plan in place.

You will hit tough times in that plan, but you will work through them because that is what you do and that is life. Gradually it will get easier as you work your way towards your future (enjoying the present, of course).

I'm just saying, I think the decision will be hard, but once made, it will be a relief and you will just take the necessary steps to follow through. The "Questions" above won't be as intimidating because you will be working through them- finding answers. Hey! That's what life is all about!
