Here's what scares me a bit:

It would mean a lot of work. I would go from being accessible to D11 24/7 to being very, very busy...especially in the first 3 to 6 months. I would need to re-fresh/learn some new things in a short span of time and get familiar with newer versions of software that I haven't used...and, I would need to become accomplished fast.

It scares me to be so far from home without support to help with D11.

I even considered, Gawd help me, inviting my mom...She could help with D11, provide some support (D11 really just needs some sort of foundation available as she adjusts--not really to do anything but just BE there while she settles).

Mom would also solve the problem of my credit issue. She could sign the lease, but I could help her out (repay her for some of what she has helped me) by paying a larger portion of the rent each month. I could re-build my credit in the meantime.

In addition, I worry about my mom being in Ohio without me. She is 71 and overdoes it.

I don't know if any of this would pan out...I am just thinking out loud.

The kids and I looked for Monty Python on Netflix and got the most ridiculous suggestions. Apparently if you are in the mood for Monty python then you are in the mood for any British tv series. (We had already seen most of the suggestions anyway)

Glad the interview went well. I am sire you and your team will make the right decision.

Also glad to hear you were honest with your mom and set some boundaries. This is my next area for personal development. I am so baf at boundaries.

Good luck and yeah for car holding up!

Thanks to Everyone lending their support!! Much love to all.

Just copied 44 Threads. Wow. That's a trip down bad memory lane. Ugh.

Me thinks I've grown and changed a lot. That part is affirming...the other parts...looking at the stress, the worries, the ups and downs...pretty sure I'm ready to let all that go from my life. Steady on and boring sounds really appealing with excitement coming from safer pursuits than a high risk H.

YouTube is the place to go. My kids had memorized the Ministry of Silly Walks by the time they were in first grade. At our darkest parts of this journey, we have loaded some Monty Python skits and laughed our way through the pain.

The just called and offered me the job...as long as my references don't say I'm an axe murderer. Didn't agree to anything yet...but, it's a relief to have an almost offer on the table.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!!!!!

That's great, Heather. It sounds like this could be an amazing start for you (if you accept). In regards to some of your concerns, remember that some of them would be concerns wherever you were hired (learning new stuff, etc).

There are lots of things to consider. Have faith in your decisions and where your heart leads you. How exciting to have the opportunity to really start fresh!

Wait, wait, wait! What?! All this Syracuse talk.......

Does this sound like a potential meeting place for everyone? Ooooooooo..... Finger Lakes/Wine Region? OMG, that would be awesome....

anyone?

Go, Heather, Go! Exciting stuff!

I know!

I'm just so relieved to have something GOOD happen!!!

The kids have been jerks all day...D11 lightened up some this evening after D20 went to work. IDK.

I've been trying to just enjoy the moment.

It's such a great opportunity for me, but I'm so overwhelmed by the idea of moving. I'm broke and have no clue if this is the best thing for us or not. I thought I would just "Know" but all I can think is...what a great career opportunity and HOW will I do this?

I worked so hard on our house over the years and it's adorable.

Went to my mom's and she threw in her usual digs. Started looking online at houses and, then, saw something in a low price range and commented, "You'd live in filth, but you're used to that. Ha Ha..."

Told my dad and he said, "Wow, don't know how you pulled that off!"

I know he didn't mean to be a jerk...but, shid. Seriously folks? He did tell me how proud he was and so did my mom. Take what I like and leave the rest.

I'm so broke right now. HOW in God's name do I move and find the girls and I something that will keep us motivated and encouraged and inspired to keep on trucking on 38 grand a year and no down payment??

Just worrying out loud right now. Sorry.
