Maybe a trip to the woodshed... Worked when my Daddy did it...

You need to set boundaries with the kids and tell them that any disrespect will not be tolerated and that there will be consequences. This is an excellent chance for you to make co-parenting ground rules with your W. Make sure that the discussion is only about the kids. No R talk...

You could have a discussion involving your W with the kids...

Thank you for the frank and honest answer.

She said she gave him a good paddling. This adds pressure to her opposite of what db book says
I need to handle but am at a loss. The kids know about ea from our fights.

So be a man and own up to what you did. Tell the kids, in front of your W, that you disrespected their mother... your W. Tell them it was wrong and that you are sorry for it. Tell them that this is NOT how a man treats his wife and is not how a father is supposed to act. Tell you were wrong and apologize to the for disrespecting the family.

By owning what you did, it gives your kids a new look at Dad. "Holy cow dogs... Dad just owned his ef up big time." Think about that. Yeah, that poop sandwich is going to taste bad... But by owning it you get to use condiments.

A paddling? Cripes, my father would have beat me silly...

I didn't mean in front... what I mean was to discuss this with the kids and include your wife. You don't want it to look like it is just another part of the dog and pony show...

I'd just ask him why he's being disrespectful to her. No matter the situation he shouldn't disrespect her, if he's blaming her for the divorce I'd probably say something about it's complicated and will take some time.

MrCas VFL, I appreciate the help. Sorry about the panic, but it caught me off guard how such a drastic change of everyone smiling and happy to paddle time happened in such a short time.

Today is our day to walk around the baseball field track while younger two kiddos practice so I'll wait till W gets home and we are home to discuss. I appreciate the help. Not sure younger two kids have had it sink in yet of what's happening. S15 hasn't said much to either of us as far as I can tell so not sure how he is handling it.

I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and was struggling today because of what I've done. I had a friend I worked with years ago remind me that all sin is sin and God does not weigh sin differently. This meant a lot cuz of my mind wandering about how I could ever be forgiven. Sorry y'all just having a hard day.

Hey WT, sorry you had a bad day. They happen. I cant speak for how God judges. I can tell you that you can start today to be who you want to be.

It will not erase the past, but, it will prevent the bad actions from being repeated - and that matters a great deal.

When you live in regret, it makes it hard to move forward and do what you need to do.

Today is the day you start to be who you were meant to be.

We can learn from our past and use that knowledge to change in the present.

So, how can you be different than you were? What would you need in order to make the changes you need to make?

Remember the goal is to be that person each day.
