I just put her on the bed so I could pet her for a while, after a bit she moved over onto the pillow where she has spent so many nights. She looks a tiny bit better this morning, but I think it's just because of the IV she had yesterday. I am getting ready to shower and take her back for more.

I did do a little reading, and it sounds like at this stage she isn't hurting (based on humans with the same condition), she is just feeling tired and down. Which is just how she is acting.

I never realized how hard this would be. My childhood cat passed while I was away, I've never had to go through this. And I don't like it.

Thank you so much, golfgirl, Julia, naej, Daybreak, and everyone else. Your kind words mean a lot.

Oh Jeff, I am right there with you. It seems that for some reason all of our pets died with me right there. She loves you and knows that you love her. Take more pics and talk to her.

Lots of hugs, kat

Glad she is comfortable, thats a great plus. I have shared my life with many cats and dogs and have never yet had one that has just gone to sleep and I can tell you it never gets easier and every time I say no more thats it, but then I go maybe a few months and I just miss having a pet/companion.
I have always found with cats that they know when it is time and start to behave differently like facing a wall or sleeping in odd corners behind doors etc.
My old cat was one I hand reared from a few days old,she fell out of a hay loft so mum was ferral but she was so special. To those not animal lovers this may sound odd but I have her ashes in a wooden sleeping cat in my hearth were she always loved to snooze.
I have a new one now also farm cat and she is like no other,so each one has a special place in your heart and never just replaced.
Sorry went off abit. Jeff you will do the right thing for her when the time is right I just know you will.((()))

Thank you Bunny and kat.

And naej, thank you for the stories. She is a special friend.

I dropped her off this morning, I hated to leave her. I don't think I will really hear anything much today, I pick her up tonight, and she will probably go back tomorrow. I think by the end of tomorrow I may know if there is any chance.

I know I can do the right thing. But if I have to do it, I know it is going to hurt a lot. She trusts me, and even if it has to be done, I am going to feel that I've betrayed her.

Charlotte the cat is back home for the night. She acts a tiny better, but then again she isn't as dehydrated. The vet allowed for the possibility of a future, but she was still very guarded. We won't really know anything until they do bloodwork again, I think that will probably be Monday.

I think she is even being her sweet self at the vet's, they say she is a sweetie.

Charlotte acted a lot more like herself last night. Being hydrated is a good thing. She was still weak, but she moved from place to place during the night, her usual spots. Some of them that I didn't think she could get to. But I know it may not mean much, yet.

Took her back to the vet this morning, she actually objected a little when I put her in the carrier, so she does have a little more energy.

I think I will ask them to do blood work tomorrow afternoon. Things I have read suggest there should be some indication of how well she may or may not recover by then.

Hugs to all of you!
