Hey thanks Romeo! Had a great day at work today and then went to a friends house for some dinner and beer. Going out with friends tomorrow night too.

Today is my Ex's weekend but I am taking the kids to an airshow today with my Mom. I got a text from ExW this morning asking when I was planning on picking them up. My ExFIL is here from out of town and I really don't want to have to see her or him today. Would it be a bad thing for me to tell her that I no longer feel comfortable around my EX in-laws? I don't want to be petty but I feel better if I don't have to pretend that it does not bother me.

I also pick up my kids from my MIL on my fridays. My EX W NEVER has to pick up her kids from her MIL. So, I am going to set a new boundary about that too.

The airshow was almost rained out but the show went on Sunday. It was very muddy though. We had mud all over our shoes and it was about 90 degrees outside. It was very hard to put on a happy face for the kids but I think I did a great job of it! lol. Got a nice sun burn too!

ExW was her typical self when I picked up the kids and I had no problem at all with it. Just business. I really hate this @#&#@!

I'm glad you went V1, sorry didn't see this earlier. I think when it comes to kids and anything else kids come first. You will not be embarrased, ashamed, worried about anything when it comes to picking them up. You can't let the kids down unless it's an emergency.

You did great! and with time things will get easier.

SR, I don't think I would be letting my kids down just by picking them up for the weekend from my EX instead of my ExMIL. How silly would it be for me to be picking up my kids from my ex MIL 5 years from now? Now is the perfect time to draw a new boundary.

Good work v1 - glad to see you clawing your way out of the doldrums. Set your boundaries - right now it is every man and woman for themself (and their kids) so do what YOU want re the collection arrangements. Let her suck it up.

Keep it up my friend.

My D2 finally peed in her potty chair today! woo hoo! I figured since it was co-parenting related I sent ex a text,

"D2 peed in the potty chair this morning!"

She answered back and hour later with,

"That's great!!!"

A few more texts back and forth about potty training and I said,

"gotta go, we are going swimming at a pool party."

10 hours later! She sends, "it was a beautiful day to go swimming. I hope you guys had fun!"

I responded back 20 minutes later, "we did have fun! They had plenty of spf50 on them!"

Why can't I just move away and not have to do this stuff?

Where are you on this now? Do you want to be dark, or do you want contact? Did you text because it was an excuse to do so, or you felt a duty?

I'm just curious... if you don't want to do this, then just tell her at the exchange, D2's doing well with the potty chair, please continue the effort. $.02. (Yeah, like I'm so good at this)
