So funny that you started this thread. I have been wondering about others' names, too. I'm glad you did this!
My name is significant on several levels. I feel like the number 8 is special to me for these reasons:
1. My late mother's birthday is on the 8th day of a month. My father and half-brother both have birthdays in the 8th month.
2. My best friend's late mother's birthday is on the 8th of a different month than my mother's month.
3. Except for one home, every place I've lived either has an 8 in the address or the digits in the address add up to 8.
4. When I was in college, I lived on the 8th floor of a building for each of the 4 years (I didn't choose my floors, by the way).
5. My H was the 8th person I [I'll let you wonder].
6. Coincidentally, I am the supervisor of 8 people this year. It may be the same next year--not by my design for either year!
7. My favorite (late) grandfather, my mother's father, was one of 8 children.
8. I wear a necklace my H bought me that is a silver 8 on a chain. He got it for me for the reason listed at #1. People often say to me, "That looks like an 8, but I'm sure it's an infinity sign." I reply, "Nope. It's actually an 8!" The funny thing is that it's only adults who do this. Kids always say, "Why do you like 8 so much?"
And there you have it--8 reasons why I chose my name!
