Sure, just ask if he is up to grabbing a movie/bite to eat. It is more fun than watching a movie alone! The worst he could say is that he is busy. If he does just say that you want a raincheck! smile

Here's the only think I would say, BBJ. It really doesn't matter how clear you are about what your expectations are. He is probably going to have other expectations, or at least hope that you'll perhaps change yours. That doesn't mean he won't accept yours, and be perfectly fine with it. Just be ready.

Appreciate the feedback guys! Still thinking...

The thing is, I know I want to be friends with him, but I haven't ruled out the possibility of more at a later date. I am just trying to go slow in life and not plan too far ahead.

All I do know is I like hanging out with him and I realized that as speech is coming to an end, I found myself disappointed that I don't have a 'reason' to see him until next speech season. Weird, huh?

My concern is more the opposite...since we do work together on the speech stuff, I don't want to mess that up. I worry that if I ask him to hang out, he may take it as a 'date', and if he is not 'into' me, that could weird him out and then things would be awkward at speech!

Ideally what I would like is to hang out as friends and just see how that goes. I may realize that I ONLY like him as a friend, or vice versa...

Oh Kat, you smarty pants! smile That whole "keep it simple" approach, who knew it actually worked better than overanalyzing? wink Or as Kalni says, "Ali-analyzing"... whistle

Texted R that I was kid free and the only 'fun' I'd had was running and taxes, was he up for some wings or a movie later...

He replied back a few minutes later but I didn't see it for quite a while bc I was running. He wants to grab wings later, can't believe I am actually kid free... grin

Just had the BEST run ever. Started at a walk, then a jog, then a run, then jog, then walk. Kind of a ladder-type thing I guess...

I covered 7 miles in 84 minutes, and with cool down it was 7.6 miles in 94 minutes. Yay me! smile Too bad that is barely more than half of a half-marathon....maybe I should go with 10Ks??

Good job. As a guy, it's extremely hot when a lady takes the initiative. Moving forward is fun, isn't it.

Part of me can't wait until I'm officially "free" to do that.

I've had friends who ran marathons who just hated it, although they were proud. A good 10k is perfect, you have to work at it but not kill yourself.

Hey, the Shamrock Shuffle tomorrow is only an 8k. Of course it may snow again.

Getting ready to head out...just realized today is March 20. I mean, I knew all day it was March 20, that is my late Grandmother's bday....

But it is also the day Dan and I had our first date 18 years ago. It was a Friday, we went out to eat at a place called Pizza King. I ordered spaghetti bc it was the cheapest thing on the menu, and he got steak. Guess our pattern started from day 1! wink Then we went to see the cinematic classic "My Cousin Vinny".

Funny it didn't really occur to me until now...and I am not really sad about it. I remember it was a great date and I can leave it at that. Guess there is progress!

Now this time I am meeting a friend for dinner and I picked the restaurant and the time. Guess that's progress too! smile

Just got home, we had a great time! smile

Met R up at BWW, he was already there and had bumped into a former student and her bf so they were chatting when I got there.

We hung out for a little over 2 hours and then headed out for a movie. We saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D. It was fabulous! smile I had no idea what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Alice rocked a cool red/black dress and ultimately chain mail. Have I mentioned I am a sucker for a good set of chain mail?! blush Grew up reading knight books.

Before I even got home R texted me that he had a great time and wanted to do it again. During dinner we had already come up with several fun things to try together. He knows of a theater that plays all independent films and I have never been, plus Cheesecake factory, and a piano bar.

Dan and my mom called while I was out but I let it go to vm. Turns out it was the kids calling to say goodnight. So I called them back between dinner and the movie.

Driving home tonight I realized how random my ipod is, I had it on in the car. I had songs from Johnny Cash & Gary Allan; Lady Gaga & Black Eyed Peas; Katy Perry & Kelly Clarkson; and Casting Crowns & 10th Avenue North (Christian groups). Not to mention the Glee soundtrack...boy am I diverse! smile

^^ What Sandycay said! LOL

BBJ - LOVE the ipod playlist. Could be mine! smile I'm dying to see Black Eyed Peas in concert. Almost had the chance a few weeks back, but plans fell through, and the tix were astronomical! Also, they were taking a party bus, and after my Fri night activities, I have a feeling they money would have been a waste!

I'm excited to see Alice in Wonderland, and LOVE the dress you posted! Chain mail? Are you talking those headpieces?

LOVE B(Dubs), as D18 and friends call it... It's just good in so many ways!

Glad to hear you're getting out. Is he hot? LOL smile
