BBJ,

Amazing quotes...truly!

I'm sorry that Dan isn't able to follow the plan the two of you had in place. It frustrates me. You sound very organized, much like I am.

I understand what you mean about competing ....with their dad's house. Although I'm still with my parents until this is final and I can rely on some support I too feel as though in my son's eyes my STBXH is 'super/disney dad'. It's tough when your spouse (ex) or not is with someone else I think. For me I don't know ...maybe there will come a point in life when it won't hurt to see him with someone else but ..... try to not dwell too much on that receipt you found. But the mind does wonder....

You're doing amazing with your training, it's inspiring really!

Much like clinging..I'm curious what has become of military man?

What happened is this: we have exchanged several texts, IM'd, and emailed here and there. Once we had an actual phone conversation.

However, AG lives 3 hours away and has young daughters. He mentioned during our phone call that he has requested that he be transferred back to Washington, DC (where he was before Kansas) in a few years. Because I also have young children, I am in no position to relocate. Which means developing a relationship would not really be worth the time invested. So, when he texts, I text back, but I leave it at that.

It was nice to have someone to flirt with/chat with, though...

Kerry, I know I like to be taken to dinner. I have no problem paying for my own meal, though, I don't expect that from the start! I just think it is nice to spend some time over dinner having conversation with someone of the opposite sex who finds me interesting. smile

Not sure if this guy was the 'real deal' anyway, if so, he was almost too good to be true!

A counselor/personal trainer. So, fit with a good head on his shoulders!(His wife cheated while he was deployed so he has a good reason for being d'd)

I texted him when I went to the Bon Jovi concert. He replied that he wished he had been there, that he met Jon Bon Jovi last year at the inaugural ball......??? Seriously? I know he was in DC but how did he swing the inaugural? Although he mentioned doing some security work so who knows...

OH, and thanks Nik for the enouragement on my training! I passed up green beer last night to go to the YMCA.

It was a 'cross-train' day, no running allowed. So I did a 5K (3.1 miles) on the elliptical, in 28:30! smile All in all I covered 3.5 miles in 34 minutes.

Today is a 2 mile run day I believe...longer runs this weekend so good thing Dan has the kids!

I'm going to fight hard to make sure I get to keep my Sunday nights. W wants me to bring them back at 6 p.m. on Sunday. To me, a weekend is Friday, Saturday AND Sunday nights. If I'm somewhere with them on Sunday, I don't have to worry about leaving early so we have to pack up and get back in time.

I am not agreeing with the change, but in my situation the weekend is Friday at 5 til Sunday at 5. Part of the reason I set it up that way is so that the kids can get back home and get organized for school on Monday, relax, bathe, and get a good nights sleep. In my case, I know how disorganized and self-absorbed my X is, so having him be responsible for preparng them for school is difficult. he does get one weekdy night with them, and things are often forgotten, homework not done, etc. on those nights.

I had a funny thing happen in the past couple of days. I got an email through Speeddate -- not worth it, signed up in a moment of weakness -- and the woman in it was absolutely gorgeous.

Of course, the photos look professionally done, but it was a nice email so I responded. So that's gone on a couple of days and then this morning I get an email with a long drawn story of how she was scammed by her father and her fiance and she's in Africa and looking to come back but only if she finds someone serious.

The whole thing sounds like a scam but for fun I'm going to continue to respond. I've got the time.

Keep up the running BBJ. The runners high clears away a lot of anxiety.

BND, if your ex is OK with it then fine.

In my case, nothing has been missed this entire school year. And it's more restful having them just stay here. They don't have to worry about repacking then unpacking, then filling W in. Instead, we get the whole day. They take baths at night. They get to sleep in. W has to be at work before they get to school so they have to take the bus. In my case, I just drive them on my days so they get an extra 30 minutes of sleep.

This again is the trust factor. Most parents feel they are the responsible one and the kids can't possibly get along without them.

And the final point. No awkward handoff times. The girls don't feel guilty running from the car to give W a hug.

I will spend every last dime fighting that proposal.

I think it'll be two more emails before she starts asking for money. It's too bad. I sent a really good email on my second one. One of the advantages of writing for a living is I'm pretty good at telling my story and expressing myself.

Too bad I'm not closer to BBJ. I could help her speech team. grin

Sorry if I come off angry on the Sunday thing. To me, it's a control/social issue. She wants me to have them on days it's convenient for her -- Wednesdays because she has to work late those nights and Fridays and Saturdays so she can go out if she has things to do.

It really has nothing to do with bathing and homework. Before the separation, because of her job, it was basically a 60/40 parenting thing in my favor. I made most of the meals, did most of the laundry, did all of the dishes and got them off to school each day.
