Hi guys thanks for your words. You guys are right that it was not as bad as I was thinking but I told myself I would not be testing the waters and I did so I was hard on myself. she did respond to an email about her car yesterday, it needs to go to the shop and she does not want to do it alone so she is going to stay here next weekend when she brings the dog, so we can take it in together on sat.

I am feeling down today, I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night because I was haunted by good memories and happier times. so that proably is leading to the dumpy mood.

I had a sunrise flight this morning those are my absolute favorite, although it was great, it was not enough to lift my mood for the rest of the day. Usually on days I fly I am able to carry that excitement with me most of the day. O well even when you love you job its still a Monday!

ok the picture of Splat the rat only heightened my curiosity, does the rat come down that tube then you wack it??

Me, too. I was like what am I looking at here?! Do you hit the rat before it hits the ground?

Ok so the rules are

One person drops the rat/ sock down the tube; the other person (the splatter) is poised with a bat and has to hit it when it comes out of the tube before it hits the ground. The guy in the picture is actually cheating, you shouldn't already have the bat near the tube exit.

It is really funny because it is actually really difficult and you and the people around you get really tense with anticipation. You guys have to try it, it's hilarious!

Well interesting turn of events. SoCal had a bit of an earth quake today, so I called to see if she was ok. We played a bit of phone tag but after awhile I got to talk to her.

She said it was nothing and was very bubbly and happy on the phone because it was kind of exciting and everyone had called to see if she was ok. Then we talked about the car and I told her the shop does not do sat appointments but they have an early morning Friday one. So she is coming up on Thursday so we can drop it off that night, then while it is getting fixed we are going to a friends BBQ after work, and she seemed to be looking forward to that. She was at the pet store as we talked so we chatted about the pets, then since she seemed to be in a good mood I told her about my day at work and she seemed to really enjoy that. Then I told her to let me know if her plans changed and that I had to go.

She was ok with ending the conversation but I know she could have kept talking so I got to leave her wanting more. It was about 6 mins but it was fun and happy.

Pisces- I don’t mind talking about my job, in fact you can’t get most pilots to shut up about themselves. I fly fighters for America’s most capable combat power but I will keep the specifics out to remain anonymous. My job is great and some days it feels like work but anytime we are in the air it’s really hard to believe that we get paid to do this. It is high stress though and line between coming home with a smile on your face or not at all can be very thin. The constant reminder that people die in this business always weighs heavy on our minds, and that of our spouses. In that respect I can relate to your H and his stresses, but where as he works deals with the worst people in the country I get to deal with America best and brightest everyday.

wow! Tht is very impressive...and it is so hard core and you live such a fine line each day! i can sense in you that you really appreciate what you do and realize how delicate life is...you do deal with the cream of the crop...that must be nice!

my H is surrounded by some good people but a majority of what he deals with is BS...on the road and the politics of it...but he does like it for the most part ( i think)...

I am glad that your H likes it, you would really have too, and it seems so thankless. Every one is quick to show they support the troops, but people like you and your H sacrifice just as much to make life worth living here at home. I fall victim to this as well, I have a lead foot and several speeding tickets to prove it, and I have never gotten one without being angry at the cop even though he did not make me speed. Although I have not gotten one in years, doing 50 in a 35 is nothing, now that 600mph is very routine.

ha ha!

i think it has a negative affect on his morale...i think that is actually a big reason for his unhappiness..but i cant really say that to him.

he knows that there is a lot of BS..its his choice to do what he does so i just support him.

600 mph! i dont know how you come off that high every day! yeesh.

im happy for you that your W will visit this weekend- yay!

Wow, JWS your job sounds amazing!

That is so good about your convo with your w! See if you can do that again a few times... but keep her wondering in between times that way she will become intrigued by you.

I called her again today, and she answered, we just quickly chatted about aftershocks, my day at work, and the puppy, only last a few mins but it was nice.

things are going well on the friends front, I am getting a little nervous about the weekend, I am going to keep it light and friendly and such. its just the longer we are together the more chance i have of messing things up. I think that i am strong enough that it wont happen but I know that it will be hard for me on the inside, I have been so haunted be good memories lately and visiting with her on a friends level brings that out. my mom suggested that i not let them haunt me but embrace and cherish them, that seems good but it is kind of the opposite of detaching, or can I somehow do both??
