Thank you, everyone.

Not only have I been blessed by having a wonderful father but also by finding all of you wonderful people here. You've all supported me through so many things over the last few years.

Off to bed so I can get up at 5AM to catch a plane.

Thank you so much, again.

You know loss, you know pain, you know separation from loved ones. Simply be there for her when she reaches out to you and reach out to her when she feels a little too weak to reach out to you. Love her, love her and then love her some more as well as all her family members. These things I ask through your Son. Amen."

Jill, he is someone who will be sorely missed which is about one of the neatest things you can say about a peron. He is someone to emulate and for that, I know you are so proud to have called him your dad. Bless you.

Jill,

Sorry about your Dad. Even when you have had time to prepare yourself, there is no good time to lose a parent that you love.

Hello Everyone,
I arrived in FL about 3 hrs after my Dad passed away. Thankfully, he went very peacefully so my prayers were answered. My Mom held him and sang to him for a couple of hours before he went. My Dad loved her singing. The nurse said that it was almost like my Mom was beginning to fall asleep and when she did, my Dad took a deep breath and passed away. Almost, like he was waiting for her to be OK.

My Dad was a pack rat and we're going through some of his "treasures." We all alternate between laughing and crying at some of the things he's kept.

Cancer is a horrible illness that no one should have to suffer through.

Our hearts are hurting but I'm happy that he's in a better place doing all the things he loved to do and was unable to do for the last 2 yrs.

Again, thank you everyone for being here for me.

Oh Qoe, I am sorry but so glad your dad is now at peace and also that those who loved him no longer have to witness his suffering.
You are right cancer is a horrible illness some types more so than others.
You were blessed to have him in your life and that will give you great comfort in the time to come.
It still hurts I know.
God bless you all.

(((Jill)))

Continued prayers for you and all your family members. His passing sounds typical of him, taking care of the ones he loved, waiting for your mom to be ok.

My pastor's wife survived brain cancer and he often talks of the pain of those affected by cancer, family members included.

Remembering is a wonderful tribute to those who depart from us. When you recall some stories from unearthing his treasure trove, do tell some of the ones you long ago forgot. I believe looking back on them, here in your thread down the road, will bring smiles to your face then, as they will ours now, I'm sure.

Love you! \:\)

Queenie,

You have a great attitude about all of this. And yes, he's now doing the things he couldn't.

Cancer is horrible and my heart goes out to your family. You have to remember when this was not him. I know you do - you've posted about him to us when he did not have the big C. Remember that. I still laugh with my sisters about my dad - weekly. He will never go out of your life. He's there forever.

It is a loving tribute to the respect and love your parents shared together.
