Hey tk:

Just checking in on you.

I hope you have found an hour of peace everyday. And if you only made it to 5 minutes - that is fine too. 5 minutes of peace is better than no minute of peace.

take care,
AG

tk,

The only way to get through this is to feel the pain. Breaking up is a process in itself. There are no games or quick fixes. What may be easier for someone else may not be nearly as easy for you because you do sound like a very sensitive guy. So really all you can do is listen to your heart and not what anyone else tells you to do.

Personally I think that what helped me the most was keeping busy. Doing things and being with people that you are comfortable with and enjoy can be a great help in healing and may help to feel less alone. I just was never much for playing mind games with myself.

Take care..........

Not much new here. Taking your advice still AGII. Still feel like crap over this.

I have found myself writing email after email. Doing the reasoning thing. Don't worry, I didn't send them. I guess that is an improvement.

I know it never works. If it happens at all it has to be with no contact. Not too many on this forum it worked for I bet.

Didn't work with my ex wife so I was so afraid to let go and let time play a bigger role.

You will feel like crap for awhile. Gettting over someone is a process. Lower your expectations from "I want to be over B yesterday" to "I will not think about B and think about something that will make me feel good about me and where I am in my life for 5 minutes everyday (or even 1 minute if that is where you need to start)."

Don't be afraid. Accept that this is a painful process and BELIEVE that you will be over this someday. It may take awhile and you may only be able to increase that non-B time by one minute every week.

Good for you that you no longer send the emails. Now limit yourself to one B email a day that you will not send.

What you are going through is similar to what alcoholics face when battling drinking issues. You will have to go slow and one itty bitty step at a time. There is a lot of wisdom in AA philosophies.

Thanks for checking in - take care and I look forward to hearing about your progress - no matter how small in your next post.

take care,
AG
