Wow MrsH, that sounds like quite a LOVELY day! So nice! I'm happy for you to be able to enjoy it. JA knows it's your bday and probably won't contact you thinking it'll upset you that he "didn't remember" (another control thing?) but little does he know you'd prefer NOT to hear from him!

Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
Everything happens for a reason, maybe Dad needs to find that it isn't better out there, he needs to realize how good he had it here. Maybe he will find God and that is the most important thing when he finds Him he will know he is supposed to come home.
