Yesterday was a sad day. The board lost one of its own. Frosty was a dear friend of mine. She died yesterday at the age of 49 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Frosty faced her ordeal with grace and dignity. Words cannot express how much I will miss her.

Frosty came to the board on October 30, 2000, 17 days after I arrived. We met in person in August of 2001 at the one of the celebrated Florida parties of yore. Since then, we remained very close. While we didn't see each other very often (three occasions in 10 years), we stayed in touch and formed a lifelong bond. We enjoyed each other's friendship, both in good and bad times. We shared out life through emails and phone conversations. And even though she has departed the physical world, we will continue to be a part of each other's spirit.

We came to the board to save our marriage. That we did not accomplish. However, we formed a lasting friendship and helped each other to become better persons than we were the day we arrived. My life has been enhanced because I knew this wonderful woman. In the words of my favorite Rolling Stones song, "you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you get what you need."

Frosty, I love you and will miss you for my remaining days.

Imp,

I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Frosty did indeed fight her battles with grace and dignity. I know you will miss her dearly. I love the photo that I know you will forever cherish from your last visit with her.

Imp,
Thank you for letting us know about Frosty's passing. She was a beautiful woman who fought hard for her marriage and in the end, the marriage wasn't saved. However, she found herself and she grew by leaps and bounds and shared those experiences with all that came here. The board, her family and friends, and her community, has lost a very valued, well respected and very well loved lady.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

IMP: I was so very saddened to learn of our Frosty's death earlier today from Gail. She was a dear friend of mine - first on the boards, then, like you - at the Florida parties in 2002 & 2003. The first year - I remember dancing to her to 'I will Survive" - we really understood each other. Pearl & I picked her up from the Tampa airport the following year and when her room didn't work out - she moved in with us.

I have been trying to get in touch with Pearl (Penny) as I know she loved her too as I did.

I have been following her illness - I guess I never really believed it was the end.

I am just so sad for her, for her girls, for all of us. I am happy, though, that she got to hold her new grandson - a true blessing!

Nice to hear from all of you. Take care.

This is heartbreaking news to know a woman like that is gone. Don't know if she knew me but I knew her from the boards--I joined in 2002--and for some reason I was just shocked to hear that she had been sick and now is gone. So, so sad. It just does not seem right, like so many things that happen in life. Don't know what else to say except thank you for posting the news. Makes one realize we have our today and that's about it. Wonder ps in good news I am doing well and have been for a long time.

IMP- Thank you for posting here the sad news of Frosty's death so that others that were touched by her would know.

I was very saddened to hear from Gail about her death. Wed night, we were at dinner with Linda and Gail, and we were talking about Frosty and thinking that she was doing better. Little did we know that she would pass away the next day. My friend Frosty was a fighter. She had incredible grace, good humor, wisdom and kindness.

Barb, I so remember dancing to "I will Survive" with her at that DB reunion. She was so much fun, so full of life.

My heart goes out to her girls, her new grandson and family. Frosty was one special lady and she will be missed.

We will all remember the friendships that were formed from my FL parties. Several of the group is missing so if any of you have e-mail addresses please let them know. It was 2000 when I had the first FL party and 7 people showed up. The following year we numbered 16 and the next we were up to 36. We did it for five years. It is so important to reach out and connect with people because we really do gain so much from the encounters.
I have heard from Pearl, Wonder Woman, Rondo, TonyP, Missy, jvm, nursemom, GG,... a couple others but I can net remember their board names.
