Have any of you ever play the game of Life? There is one space marked mid-life crisis. When you land on this space, you have to trade your Career Card and Salary Card for new ones. This can be good or bad, depending what your initial career card was.

In any event, my girls and I played Life last night for our "Pizza and Game" night. My first daughter lands on the Mid-life Crisis square and isn't happy because she has a bad second career. The second daughter then lands on the same spot and also gets a bad second career. Then, of course, I land on the square and it is also bad news for me....second career is not so good. What are the odds that all three of us land on this square?!?!?!?!?

So my older daughter asks "what is a midlife crisis anyway?"
Younger daughter responds "It can't be good, look what happened to us."
Older daughter asks me if I knew what a midlife crisis was. I said yes. She asked if I ever had a midlife crisis. I smiled and said no.

And no..... ;\) ....I didn't tell them to go ask their father.....

M,
Your posting is priceless! Too bad your h isn't around to play the game. Wonder what would happen to his cards if he landed on the mlc square?

Peace - This is an old, classic game - I remember it as a child. For some reason, the girls love it. Going to college, or starting a career, getting married, buying a house, having children, college....very traditional. I guess the modern version was developed in the 1960's. I guess MLC isn't something new!!!!

Snodderly - unfortunately we all know what would happen if H landed on the square! He landed on it well over a year ago and keeps missing his turn to move forward and out of it!!!

Peace - I am well with lots going on now. I will post more details when I can. I hope all is well with you.

Hugs!

M,
Save a pair of dice for him, for he will need them to roll in order to get his "get out of mlc" turn very soon.

You handled the conversation with your family very well.

Hi millie-
Great story. I had that game when I was a kid and loved it. I forgot all about the MLC square...too funny. Yes, MLC is not anything new. I am very thankful for the books and the internet that we have now so we can have a better understanding of it. Too bad we haven't been able to find a cure for it (other than time) yet!

Hope you are doing well.

Oh, Snodderly.....

I have accepted and made peace with the fact that my H isn't getting off the MLC square for a long time. He continues on a path of destruction - his thinking, his choices, his decisions.....I am continually amazed that this is the same man that I married. But I stay off his path.

No dice for him!!!!!

Up - oh, I have plenty of cures for MLC.... ;\) I think a 2x4 would do the job nicely.

Take care!
