Baby steps! All positive steps in your posting. Let's hope he can meet new friends and enjoy the school year.

Wet,

Seen your comments about s15. Do you think he just wants your time? Could you go on a boys fishing weekend? Or something he would like. Somewhere he can talk. Or is there something the likes that you could take him to? What's he into?

Yes, you have a good suggestion Surfer. Both my sister and brother have cabins on a lake up north. I might see if I can invite ourselves to spend time this week with them.

Sometimes when we want attention we don't always recognise that. We feel insecure, not connected or in not control, perhaps without reAssurance we feel we need etc. At age 18 or so this can still be confusing particularly for an adolescent/teenage boy trying to be an adult. As they are often less emotionally mature than girls of the same age. He may not recognise his need to talk. Just company with you with a lot of silence and validation when he talks will do wonders. Her may spew but just do what you did with your W and listen and validate is my suggestion. Before you know it I trust he will open up a little. You can then respond and help like only Dads can at times. Good luck.

good news about s wet. my boy is just a bit older - he'll be 17 next month (how did that happen?)... we forget how fragile they still are. they have one foot inching towards adulthood while the other is in childhood. that lives them square in the middle between the two. and kids can be really cruel sometimes. He's just had his world upended and a new step parent thrown into the mix. you are doing all you can by being there, supportive and loving. I think some guy time away is a good plan.

continued prayers coming your way.

xoxoxo

Just looked and the lakes near you must be amazing for fishing. Could even have a cook up over a camp fire and if not, take a cool box with "a pre-caught" fish and surprise him!!!

Could even have a couple of beers round the camp fire - at that age I am sure he could have a shandy too!!

Get it booked!!

Friday Lawyer Joke:

The person who assists a criminal in breaking the law before the criminal gets arrested, is called an accomplice.

The person who assists a criminal in breaking the law after the criminal gets arrested, is his lawyer. grin

A Friday Lawyer Joke, I hope it makes you smile:

A man who was having heart trouble went to the doctor to see what his options were.

Naturally, the doctor recommended a heart transplant.
The man reluctantly agreed, and asked if there were any hearts immediately available, considering that money was no object.
"I do have three hearts," said the doctor. "The first is from an 18-year old  kid, nonsmoker, athletic, swimmer, with a great diet.

He hit his head on the swimming pool and died. It's $100,000.

The second is from a marathon runner,  24 years old, great condition, very strong. He got hit by a bus. It's $150,000.

The third is from a heavy drinker, cigar smoker, and a steak lover. It's $500,000."

"Hey, why is that heart so expensive? He lived a terrible life!"
"Yeah, but it's from a lawyer and never been used."
