Forward, that's a good question! There are different trains of thought on that. If I were you, I would start at a less intense level for a longer time. Once you get used to the cardio, you can try the intense shorter time. Personally, I thinks better to shift back and forth between the two, keep your body guessing.

There are some studies and my personal experience that mixing it up WHILE working out seems to have some great results.

A 30 minute workout.

5 minutes normal biking.

2 minutes all out.

3 minutes slighty faster pace than normal.

3 minutes normal

2 minutes all out

3 minutes slighty faster pace than normal.

2 minutes all out

5 minutes normal

2 minutes all out

3 minutes slightly faster than normal.

I'm doing P90X & my body is like WTF with all the guessing..

But that is the key, it seems. Keep the body guessing.

BH...
I am diabetic and too much cardio spurs on a rapid blood sugar drop which gives me a seizure

I like to walk and dance and usually can tell when my sugar is dropping too fast doing those activities

any suggestions on what I can do to drop weight...
I have cut calories down but my dr says no more or I will be in the starvation level which will actually add weight

I also need something that I can do on my own...no gym help...sometimes with a baby

Figgeroni, I am sorry you have those issues to deal with. Make sure you are well nurished, but not junk nurished. Eat lots of veggies, chicken and fish. Bake them, don't fry them. As far as cardio goes, just do some light walking, you can't push it. Weight loss will be slow, but you will get there.

did you lose your whiteboy mind?

I want to lose all my weight
and
no one needs the exact number

and you are supposed to say that I don't need to lose weight at all (NO MATTER WHAT)
and
then I feel good so I want to work out more instead of just bake a damn cake and eat the whole thing while watching some romantic comedy and sobbing about how my life sucks

jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

(actually my life rocks and I walk and do fun stuff with the kids and I basically just want to work my way into stuff without dropping my blood sugars too low but dayum...don't you know the ins and outs of stuff...sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh)
