I have been here at DB for a long time. Never really thought my sitch would come to this forum, but non the less here I am.

My H actually left our marriage a long long time ago, in fact, it is highly likely he was never in it at all.

The good news is that with the counseling I have had I am finally able to face this fact and begin to do what needs to be done to move on with my life.

Tonight I am meeting with a financial counselor. I am also going through the Divorce Care workshop right now and it is very valuable stuff!

Hi LolaL, sorry I was not behind the bar last night. I hope you were able to get served smile

I met with the financial guy yesterday. Of course he could not tell me what will happen (guess his crystal ball was not working), but I do feel better after having someone look everything over.

I guess it is time for me to take a leap of faith and go for it (ie file for D). I will make the best of what ever God has in store for me.

NNP,

Your H is military right? If so hopefully the financial person you saw have a good knowlege foundation on military pay and benefits? My spouse is military and I have made sure that the attorney I've spoken to is very knowledgable of military pay and retirement.

I found you, too, NNP. I think having some set "laws" with the military retirement will be helpful in the settlement. Don't give up anything that is rightfully yours (that is spoken from experience) Be wise!
