Lovely BND,

I want you to know that I've started a new tradition, too. I know my kids will be at my former wife's house, so a friend and I are going to a swanky restaurant in Pasadena for Thanksgiving. I feel real good about it. I've known this guy over 30 years.

We are having a ‘real’ Christmas tree this year !!

My H and I bought the artificial tree for our first Christmas together and it has always been a cosy kind of reminder of our first Christmas together. It is about 17 years old now … time for it to go. To get rid of the old and bring a fresh new tree into our home – We (my son and I) are going to chose one together a little nearer Christmas, one with a root on it so that we can put it in the garden afterwards. Hopefully, it will be able to be bought in again next year. That is the plan anyway.

I have also bought lights for the outside of the house.

The inside will be decorated with lots of fairy lights too.

I think I am more excited than my son this year!!

D and I trimmed the tree and had cookies with the neighbor. I have decided that we will try to do that next year.

I'd like to consider something new for New Year's Eve...we shall see...

I'm putting lights on the outside of my apt this year (the windows and the patio). Last year I only decorated the inside and put lights up on the inside of the kids bedroom.

I'm going out for New Years this year (don't have the kids that week).

The children and I donated to Heifer international. We donated money for a flock chickens and a share of a sheep.

I have also been trying new Cajun and Indian recipes.
