FIB,

I am glad you liked that one. Here is a funny one:

That reminds me of something a senator said during the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky fiasco. It went something like this:

If my W caught me similarly, I'd be trying to pick myself up off the ground, bloodied, while she stood over me saying, "how do I reload this thing."

FIB,

The following is one of my favorites:

Charlton Heston, when asked by an interviewer if he had pondered divorcing during his long marriage...

Hey yall.

I have successfully phased out of my job and set up the person to replace me to succeed. Meanwhile, I am laying low and hiding out on the river awaiting my imminent departure to Panama. I am purposefully keeping the computer away as I no longer need it for work and need to stop the obsessive checking of the ex’s myspace. Having said that…. I have news.

The ex has a boyfriend. Or rather the ex has gone public with the boyfriend. See the wound… bring on the salt. I have known this guy for 5 or 6 years and no very little about him as I have always had a vague dislike for him due to the fact that he is almost always consistently arrogant and rude.

More salt please…

As best I can figure, the source of this arrogance is to mask a glaring insecurity that is common to most singer/songwriter types. Which this guy is. Which, also, is what I was when the ex and I first started dating.

Are you catching my drift? One might suggest that the only reason I garnered the attentions of this rare beauty is because I stood on that stage. The implications and inferences can be drawn from there. Really? Is that all I had to offer? Was the marriage doomed the day I split up the band and started law school?

I thought I had this all figured out. This news has shaken me. I feel physically ill.

It's time to move on. Get Gray's book Mars and Venus: Starting Over. Start your grieving. If she did it to you. where do you think HE will be in 1.5-4 years? I don't envy him. Why do you?

Hey FIB,

Yeah, still alive. Swinging back and forth in a manner I'm sure you're familiar with. I read the Gray book. Good stuff there. Trying to get a handle on the anger, sad, fear, sorrow, stuff. All the focusing on love her, love her, remember the good times, etc., was tough to go through but probably worth it.

I've accepted that it is over and that has by far been the biggest break through. It almost seems like the whole marriage was a dream. Something that was wonderful, but temporary. I keep telling myself that I deserve something, and will have, something better. I don't know if I really believe that though.

I don't get to the computer much out here. I sincerely hope all is well in your world. I continue to be warmed and comforted by your simple interest in my plight. God bless you man...
