Locked 'er up, Bethie... what a surprise.

Perfect by Thursday

The weekend has gone well. I'm taking good care of myself and enjoying my time. I picked up the girls for a couple of hours this morning and we went and got our tree. It is an 8-ft scotch pine and it is huge! Right now it's sitting in the middle of my living room and as I no longer have living room furniture, it looks great there. I can't wait to decorate it with the girls tomorrow night.

So... that's my day. Just taking it easy. Hope you're all well! I LOVE this time of year!

Fantastic - it's 75 degrees here and therefore too warm for eggnog, so I'll take a Hendrick's and tonic...

Way to go on the tree!

Hey Kev! I'm just watching the Broncos win (gasp)... they actually look good today. So I was just thinking of ya.

G&T coming right up. Nice to see your smiling faces around.

Oh, and btw, just snuck by the house and it's still standing. Woo Hoo!! I'll be shocked if the cat doesn't knock it over. Kinda reminiscent of the Christmas eve my mom burned the chili and her tree fell over. Good memories.

Jules, Awesome on the tree...I was not as ambitious, got only a 7' Frazier Fir...but got it in the back of Kit and home, into a bucket of water out on the porch. Hasn't made it into the house yet, but I will do this!

Thanks for the inspiration, girl, and I bet yours is going to be bootiful...we will have to exchange pics!

we too have a kitten on her way to "cathood" who is eagerly eyeing the tree. so far she's just after the "skirt" as it has bells.

Posted on my thread in "piecing"...nothing thrilling.

I think of you often and hope things are as well as can be!

You lucky lady, you! You win ME!!!

So back to getting the tree yesterday. It was a riot. We're walking around the tree farm and D6 and I find a tree we like, but being who I am, I want to walk around a little more to see if there's a better tree. So D6 planted herself right by the tree and said she wasn't moving b/c she didn't want someone to come take our tree (who, honey? The one other family there?). So we decided to get the one that she guarded and as I was cutting it down, D4 decided to piggyback on me. I'm not quite sure how that was supposed to be helpful and it really wasn't.

So the tree is up, the lights are up. I'm picking D4 up early today and we're doing her CHristmas shopping before we get D6 from school. Then we are decorating the tree and having dinner before I have clients at 5:30. I LOVE TODAY!!!!

Life is good. I didn't watch any of those movies on last night... I really have a hard time this time of year with the feel-good, happy ending movies that are on. Doesn't put the most joy in my heart. But life is good. Kids are healthy. And the tree is still standing. It will be a miracle if it doesn't topple as the cat has already climbed it today. Dork.
