Since newcomers are often told to GAL (Get A Life) when they first post, I thought it might be a good idea for people to list the things they have done to get a life since the bomb dropped on them. Share everything, the more specific the better!
I'll go first:
- Joined a gym / started lifting weights again.
- Bought some new clothes.
- Helping my widowed mother go through my dad's effects / fixing up her place.
- Started going back to my lodge again.
- Reading books for edification and pleasure again.
- Working on my photography and website.
- Hiking on the weekends.
Here's mine:
Exercising again: lifting, running bike riding
Picked up some old hobbies: classic computer stuff, looking for an old car to restore, reading
Building things: two decks on the house, horse barn for parents, minor remodeling to the house
Refinishing some older furniture
Started doing my own maintenance on my cars
Website design
No one hobby takes massive amounts of time, but, I do stay busy.
* Continued to run/jog everyday.
* Cleaned up the house and garage and got rid of all the stuff that was just being kept - for no real reason apart from not wanting to get rid of it
* Watching movies
* Going to start learning to play guitar
* Going to invites and meetings without excuses
* Enjoying the small things in life better - talks with the sons and family etc
Went back to School
Take trips with D's or friends
Joined a gym
Cleaned up garage
Bought a chainsaw to help with the yard
yeah, that's it!
Took up photography
Spending time getting to know our girls and their friends.
Readying self help books.
Go shopping for new clothes.
Going alpine skiing with friends.
Looking forward to motorcycle season.
Redecorating house all by me. Making curtains, artwork, DIY headboard, etc.
Continue running, working out.
Hanging out with friends.
Reading more. Self help, business, and recreational.
New yoga class
Feeling my emotions, spending some time alone (this is different for me)
Working out.
Flying. Freefalling.
Getting the house in shape.
