2010 Goals and Plans - DivorceBusting.com

I wrote out my goals for 2009 here last year. They revolved around my personal goals and getting our marriage back on solid ground. When I worked on my goals, business plan and family plans for 2010 I came to a realization that I need to honor for myself. We have a busy and full year ahead of us that covers a lot of ground that needs my full attention.

What I realised is that when I look thru my plans is that the time and energy I spend on DB is counterproductive to my other goals. I am going to curtail the time I spend here to help me achieve my other goals. I never expected to be a "vet" here, I never thought I would get to a hundred posts.

This forum is a valuable tool for getting thru one of the most difficult periods in your life. I am grateful for what I have learned, the friends I have made and the support given to me here.

I will still check in and lurk. I will still pray for all of you. The Greek and I are being sponsored by our Diocese to attend Retro and become counselors so that it will be available in our area. I will continue to give back.

I appreciate you all more than you could know. Strength and Honor mates.

We have not "spoken" but I've learnt so much from reading what you post. I think you're going to be a great help to many in Retro. I think now of the couple who started it in my area many years ago, and you and Greek would be just so powerful a positive during the weekends ... the attendees who will attend are indeed blessed, notwithstanding the sitches that brought them there.

Thanks so much for giving so much. This board's loss will hopefully be the gain of couples and families in the "real world".

Coach, I understand your decision, and wish you and Greek nothing but the best. I think you guys would be GREAT at facilitating Retrou! The fetching Mrs. Puppy and I attended a weekend last year, and my parents, for years, facilitated Marriage Encounter weekends. It is a great ministry, and I think you will both be used mightily by Him that keeps us, as you both ALREADY HAVE.

Just for the record ~ reading on DB actually works with one of my goals for 2010, so I'm not going anywhere. I learn a lot here, that's one thing. The other thing is that I feel a deep need to turn my past heartaches and difficulties into blessings for others somehow. I think that once in a while I do that here.

Well, I waited a whole night (patient me!) before posting the obvious. This must be a test!

So, I'd guess we gotta apply DB principles. We'll detach, GAL, go dark, in lovingly NC, but appreciative and validating, maybe even do a Gucci and start "seeing" other vets here. Sooner or later, Coach will be curious and start popping by again. And if not, we'll all be stronger persons and emerge better anyway. We'll handle it.
