Ginger - I'm sorry - but I'm trying to keep the discussion of B's personal life to a minimum. This is my place to write about me. B is certainly a big part of my life so gets mentioned a lot, but I don't want to get to a place where she's the one being dissected.

Translation, no, she did not. smile

However, that is nothing to be ashamed of, for lack of a better term, as at least here in the USA, more often than not (more than half of the population) have not planned for their retirement. Heck, many could not survive more than a few months if they lost their job. Andrew is very correct - the time to start planning for retirement is in your 30s if not in your 20s. Investing even modest amounts i.e. $2,000 to 3,000 a year will get you close to seven figures in your late 60s and early 70s.
