My H is a gambler and an alcoholic.

There is no better place that Al Anon for alcoholic affected spouses and family. they have have resources that can help H and you. You will get the day to day support you need along with a fellowship network. Working a twelve step program for you as a possible codependent and enabler will actually give your M the best chance. There is nothing inconsistent between 12 steps and DB. I do both.

It is a must do. You will have to trust on this and just go. You will be very glad that you did. Those who are compulsive and addicted will do anything to stay with their addiction. Until they decide to leave it behind there is no way forward at all.

Your H will love his addiction more than anything including any OW. It is merely that an OW may tolerate the addiction.
Alcohol needs special care, you can only help yourself. Stop fretting about H and get the help you need.
