Yes, Joe. He did seem to stand a little taller with the compliments. I noticed he looked away though. I think he wants to hear them but doesn't know HOW to. I get that. It's not easy to receive compliments.

His favorite treat? Hmmm... He loves candied ginger. He's watching his weight and I don't want to undermine his efforts and seem unsupportive but I can give him a little bowl of it, right?

I'm tempted to send him an email with a link to the LL test and say, "indulge me". Gifts may be #3 on his list, closely linked to the other two. Something to consider.

The shirt thing... I can do that. He wears a lot of silk shirts so they're easy to ooh and ahh at. smile

Thanks Joe! Day 1 of the challenge is a success!

OMG!!!! I spoke to to person who recommended me for the job I interviewed for last week...

They LOVE me!!!

They are super disorganized (which is why they need me) so it getting back to people is a challenge so I am emailing them tomorrow.

I talked $$$ with my friend and she said they need me so badly that I shouldn't ask for less than 5% of my old salary. I am SO glad she told me that because I was totally prepared to ask for about $20K less and was worried they'd be offended by that.

Oh. This is awesome!!!

A cupcake from H and now a real opportunity for a job where I could seriously be completely independent (even though CA is a no fault state and everything is split).

Right before this news I was online looking for a good steam mop and now I'm looking for a GREAT part time nanny with a good driving record.

AAACCCCKKKK!!!!!!!!

WooHoo on the job situation! Hope it all pans out.

Don't do the LL test on him. Too much like R talk. You can do it w/out his input. Think of how he shows love most naturally. Those are almost certainly his strongest LLs. The 5LL book talks about how to read what a person's LLs are.

Watching his weight? Is he losing (easy compliment)? Building any muscle (opportunity for touch)?

If he likes candied ginger, but is trying to stick to a diet, how about thinking quality over quantity? Where is the best? I'm sure somewhere in LA there is super yummy, top level candied ginger. Find that out and get him just a little. Less diet busting, but even better. And the effort to seek and get the best stuff is an act of service to go with the gift. I act like I'm all good at gifts, but I suck when I have to do it.

Keep at it, your life seems to be getting better and better H or no H. This is exactly what may draw him in.

Kudos!
