Last of the conditions was waived today so it's a done deal. I get the keys in 2 weeks.
Lots of shopping. Got some great nautical things at Cracker Barrel & Michaels.
Tired after spending 2 days away.
But it's a good tired.

Congratulations! Along with everyone else, I hope that it all goes well for you.

Been a very long time since I checked onto the boards. Hope to be a more frequent visitor...

Thanks everyone. daybreak - nice for you to stop by.

I've posted my cottages on FB & now all 3 cottages are booked for the first week of August. I've had a lot of interest & dates are bring asked about. Should have some more firmed up bookings soon. I even have a pretty serious renter for all 3 for a week next year - someone I know. I feel better when it's a friend or a friend of a friend.

Got a free dock to add to my "boardwalk" & small dock. Had to walk it in myself as it is quite shallow but lovely hard packed sand bottom (so now I know). My previous cottage & my home have a squishier bottom. We had the owners permission to bring it before closing. No one was there so Josh & I had a picnic on the beach. So quiet & I saw a woodpecker & baby ducks.

Today is my final day to go inside before closing in 8 days. Ashley is coming to help me take inventory in the kitchens. I believe in fully equipped - useful pieces. No one wants to find out they have a crappy frying pan or no corkscrew. Off to shop after that for the "missing pieces".

Went to a craft show on Sunday with Ashley. Found a wonderful framed pic of a frog in weeds for my Lily Pad & also a turn of the century sketch of the lake the cottage sits on. Framing those today.

I wanted a bear lamp but they're so expensive. Got a small lamp with a lg base & brown shade at Walmart. Glued a carved wood bear onto the base. Less than $40 & it looks awesome!

Lining up some help with moving & little fix ups for next week. Buying 2 sofa beds & already got a new futon. That expands the sleeping areas to handle 2 more per cottage. It just makes food sense.

The excitement keeps me awake at night. I will be glad when it's done & especially after the first week. I want to make sure everyone loves it like I do.

Onward...

Barb,

Congrats! This sounds like such a fun project and income opportunity. I'm thrilled for you. smile

It sure sounds as though the universe wants you to have this... everything is moving on schedule or ahead of it, with smooth sailing. I hope that continues for you.

Wish you were closer, because I've got stuff to outfit another household. I'm going to stow it to save for D20, when she has her own apartment in 2 years.

Good luck!

Betsey

Thanks Bets!

I wish you were closer too! So we could all party here! Such a fun place.

Blue heron was sitting at the end of the dock this morning & a family of fuzzy baby ducklings waddled down the dock.

Kitchens are pretty well equipped but still need a few things.
