Figgeroni...et all...thanks. 3AM....in my new apt. Stressful move. Needed 2 trucks. Massive one on day one. Smaller one day 2. The house now feels like my ex, like, a stranger. Ya know, this may not be too bad. Night all. FIB

Over (or is it)

It is finally done. I am officially divorced and I am no longer a homeowner. I learned this week that my divorce had gone thru on Oct. 28th.

I closed on my house today. My XW received $57,000. I walked away with $2,000. It was an emotional moment when I locked the door for the last time. Funny thing, similar to my X, the house suddenly seemed cold and alien. My sister called later. She lives across the street. She told me that she saw the new owner lift his wife up and struggle with the front door to carry her in. She ran up and held the door for him so he could carry her across the threshold. One marriage over. Another starts exciting and new. They look like they'll make it.

Back to the closing: Sure as shootin', 10 minutes into the closing, XW's FATHER walks in, stands in the back of the room with his hands clasped behind his back and observes. 15 minutes later, he leaves. I never looked at him. What a load of ......

So, my friends, I am typing this from my netbook, alone, in my new apt crammed tight with boxes as I eat a frozen pizza washed down with a Sprite. A far cry from the family of four father sauteeing' chicken cutlets in the kitchen.

I don't know where my shoes are.

I don't know where my boxer briefs are.

I'm due back at work tomorrow.

Starting from scratch.........

Why are you due back tomorrow?! Is it possible to take a day, just to unpack a little? Ask your sister to come give you a hand so you don't feel like you're falling down the rabbit hole?

Every day gets better. I remember I didn't really have any furniture for the first 10 days or so. I picked it up here and there. Now that I'm in a house I feel like I'm more a king of my castle. But still I'm renting. Some day I want to be an owner again. I have a three-year countdown sheet on my fridge to remind me of the goal.

Finally catching up with you... and it looks as though you finally have some closure.

Day 1.

All this is temporary and yes it takes some adjusting to at first but you'll settle into a new groove before long.

All about perspective I suppose. Well hell yeah the chicken would be much better, but I'd take a damn pizza ANY day over what you'd have to put up with in order to have that chicken. LOL.

Give it time, and don't forget you can cook what ever the fark you want now. smile

Start each day with no mistakes. A clean sheet of paper with nothing written on it. Be creative, be silly, be new.
