sg posts something nice and locks my thread! SHEESH!

Here is my journey thus far--

Never Knew Heartbreak Hurt This Bad
Haze Grey and Underway--Can We Talk
Anchors Aweigh
Man the Rails and Give no Quarter
Between the Devil and the Deep
I Always Admired the Cut of His Jib
Why Did She Marry A Sailor
Welcome To The GoatLocker

When I first started posting here, I saw no positives in my sitch. I was heartbroken over the fact that H walked out on us and did not see much hope for the future. The thing was, despite those bad feelings, I KNEW I was not done and I needed to figure out how to get on the right path. Instead, I found DB and am so glad I did. I have learned, in 3 months, that I AM good person who deserves to be loved and cherished and that my H is right, I do deserve to be treated better than he has treated me. However, I have also found my way back to church and God and know, too, that my H is capable of being that better. I just have to be patient and give him the chance to grow under God's watchful eye and grace. I will stand for my marriage because I made a promise, one I meant with all my heart and will honor.

As for my new thread title.

This queston is put to my husband AT LEAST once a day while on the ship. There is only one correct response:

"All me bloomin' life, Most Honorable Senior Chief! Me Mother was a mermaid, me father was King Neptune. I was born on the crest of a wave and rocked in the cradle of the deep. Seaweed and barnacles are me clothes. Every tooth in me head is a marlinspike; the hair on me head is hemp. Every bone in me body is a spar, and when I spits, I spits tar! I'se hard, I is, I am, I are!"

The real answer--I am a career Navy brat prior to becoming a Navy wife. I literally have 36 years of broken service! My dad and stepdad are both retired Navy. H is at 35 years this month, as his dad is retired Navy also! Our blood is almost salt water.

You have no expectations for the weekend, but that doesn't mean we can't! (Goldey is doing the happy dance for SMW!) Praying for you and your H. Peace.
p.s. I have read Praying Through the Deeper Issues of Marriage, excellent recommendation. She really covers every scenario you can imagine!

Thank you for the added prayers. Wow, I get to be a hero! I thought only my kids thought I was a hero! Yes, Deeper Issues is amazing and really helps focus me in my prayers. I am glad you find it helpful.

Sis...

With the pedigree of committment that you both carry in your families and in both of your hearts, I can see where you get the drive to survive and the mental of never say quit. Your phone call was done perfectly and flawlessly. You are carrying yourself as a Matron of honor and respect.

IMHO you stay the path that God as laid down and keep your roots in mind continuely you are in for a great life. As they have always said the backbone of the service men/women is their family, husbands and wives. You go girl....

The toughest job in the Navy is that of a Navy spouse (modified to be PC). There is no other option for me than staying the course. It is not a matter of not accepting failure but instead a matter of ensuring I live the life God intends for me to live. If I was meant to D my husband, God would have made sure I was aware of it by now. Instead he has sent me sign after sign to keep me on track and focused on my goal. God is truly amazing!
